He's busy on the Civil War: House of M miniseries.

    The new miniseries sounds cool.
But the thing is, killing Vulcan was Havok's goal before. The others were supporting him. Now, they all want him dead.
That seems a bit off to me; killing Banshee and Corsair wasn't enough for them to want him dead before?

You'd expect a lot of things to change. It's been how long since the trio escaped and the others locked up and tortured? If I dont see them in some new clothes by the first issue i'm going to suspect they haven't bathed in months. Anyway, I would like to see more of the other characters. I appreciate the family situation between the two Summers' bro's but maybe Chris can focus the attention a little more on the others. I mean, yes, they should be heavily involved in the WoK event, but the Kingbreaker would be an excellent time to put a spotlight on the New Starjammers or X-Jammers, before they get thrust into the epic battle. It should be obvious that not much will progress in the X-Jammers vs Shi'ar drama, coz they're being made available for the War of Kings event... so what can we really expect from this follow-up except to tie up lose ends? And personally, I'd love to see the X-Men go home, (especially Rachel for me), because they just go to waste in space... and once the conflict between Vulcan is finally resolved (by his or their death) there would be nothing left for them out there anyway.

Does anyone know if "War of Kings" will be THE marvel event of 2009? Like "Secret Invasion" is this year. I know WoK has been compared to Annihilation and Annihilation: Conquest, but while those were grand in scope they felt more like some also-run events compared to CW, WWH and SI.

It seems like it will come out after Ultimatum and no other huge crossover from Marvel seem planned. But, in order for War of Kings to be a huge Marvel event that really attracts fans it has to have some more big names. The only ones I see as possible are Kitty, Jean, and Magneto. I don't see the X-Men, X-Force, or Avengers going out into space to join the fight against Vulcan.

Rachel on the run again! Yost is following up the semi-DofP thing that Grey's End was in the first place!

Not to sure about that. I don't know what the foresight was for that one but the way I see it, "Rachel as prey" was kind of resolved in Wand'ring Star. If the Secret Order ever sent more to kill her while she was on Earth, it would have been on her turf. So I think Chris' danger on Rachel ended there, until she was blasted off into space by EB which opened up a whole new mess of things.
I think Rachel on the run is reminiscent of her short limited series as Mother Askani (which wasnt that great). Where she had to assume a new identity. That would be interesting, maybe she'd dye her hair or something?

Come to think of it, what was the deal with the Death Commandos anyway? How'd they pop up there?

And so I dont seem all Rachel obsessed I'm gonna talk about Alex and Lorna. If Alex got enough strength to blast the surface of a wall (in Divided We Stand) shouldn't Lorna's powers not be nullified also? They got two of the most formidable mutants locked up below the surface of that planet. It wouldn't be a stretch if they broke themselves out, seeing as the survivors have been taking their sweet time to help. And is it just me, or does anyone else dislike Lilandra and think she's just being greedy and power hungry?

Rachel on the run hopefully will interesting, and not a repeat of Wand'ring Star. The Death Commandoes had no problem finding her then, so the fact that she's managed to allude them for months is a good sign, but still there isn't a lot she can do on her own.

Hopefully Rachel's the one organizing the jail break, not just wallowing in guilt over what happened at the end of Emperor Vulcan. After all, look what she was able to do when she formed the Askani. Fighting Vulcan should be a piece of cake compared to that.

So, another miniseries before the finale? Given the tendency toward self-contained mini-arcs and accessibility instead of continuity of recent years this really has got to be one of the most drawn out arcs in the MU. Not that I'm complaining, but it is bizarre.

It's also interesting that this is being folded over into confrontations with other major MU space players for WoK - the X-Men bleeding into larger continuity as opposed to vice cersa hasn't been done in a while either (House of M doesn't count).

Hope Korvus takes stock of his life off-panel. In an airlock.

So the Shi'ar will finally remember they put a tracking device on Rachel?? It was so lame that they forgot all about that and Vulcan had no clue where the X-Men were.

To be slightly fair, Vulcan may not have been told about the tracking device.

I agree. It's been going on long enough. While Yost managed to salvage the lost X-Men from what EB did to them, Emperor Vulcan was just a bandaid over a gaping hole. This needs to end the quarrel... I want there to be death! (preferably Vulcan's.)

And it should definately be explained why Vulcan can't (or couldn't before) find Rachel, especially since she "couldn't" remove that deathmark. And now that she wants to hide, how can she conceal herself? If they don't answer this... it will bother me for quite some time.

Plus... The Death Commandoes were easily obliterated by Rachel in Emperor Vulcan (and then went missing) so they're not a real threat anymore. Rachel's got leadership skills from her father... but she was more of a catalyst in the whole thing with Apocalypse (as well as the host of the Phoenix Force)... so I wouldn't say it would be easy to take on Vulcan with her in charge...

I've heard alot of hate towards Korvus, but Yost really gave him more of a personality (better than EB's tough badboy cliche) So I think Rachel and Korvus should stay together for as long as they're in space. But once that's over they all need to get the helloutathere cause I'm sick of seeing the same things all the time.
If they separate, I'm thinking Rachel should become pregnant (not tell Korvus) and she will transfer all of the superficial power of this Phoenix echo crap to her child. Korvus should... i don't know, marry Lilandra and become Emperor. Raza and Ch'od can be official Imperial whatevers...
And since heaps of people are Lorna and Havok fans, they should head back to Earth and retire (after Skrull crisis ends), and be called in for duty whenever something big occurs (which looks like it happens frequently)
