    Default Darkhawk fans rejoice!

    From My Cup O' Joe-
    http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=426624563

JM: And fer the luvva Pete, everything old is new again. You got Darkhawk in Nova 17.

JQ: Hey, I'm not a cosmic guy, but the cosmic fans, theyz loves the Darkhawk. What more can I say?

    Okay, I'll say more.

Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, the Nova writers, will be visiting the Marvel offices in a couple weeks, and word has it they have big plans for the former New Warrior. They're doing a great job revamping our cosmic characters, so we'll see if lighting strikes again. They may have to wrestle C.B. Cebulski for him, though, as Darkhawk is still in the Loners. C.B. better find a tag-team partner.

If they do this, maybe they can write a new backstory for Darkhawk. Because the one they came up with was so crappy, it has to be wrong.

Is that ish of Nova a SI tie-in? and given that Darkhawk is there, does that mean Nova's back on Earth?

I'd be more excited if it weren't in Nova. Can't say I'm a fan, but maybe this leads to something bigger.

Cool. Given Darkhawk's origin story, it makes sense for him to be working on a cosmic level, at least at times. (I hope this is a cosmic story, and not just Nova coming back to Earth to deal with the Skrull threat, although that is certainly just as likely. Of course, Quesada does make that comment about revamping cosmic characters...)

Wouldn't mind seeing Portal come back, either.

More details from DnA themselves at CBR

It is an SI tie in and it does take place on Earth. The good news though, is that Darkhawk may become a recurring character in Nova and they're not ignoring where Loners left off (there's a comment about Cebiulski woking overtime to get him where he is at the beginning of this issue).

You know, it's too bad we never had a Nova/Darkhwak throwdown BEFORE they became teammates in new Warriors.

    Project Pegasus? Ha! Awesome.

I finally found a copy of the old "Project Pegasus Saga" trade, and it'll be interesting to see how much (if any) of that stuff DnA will include in this storyline.

Finally - I've always like the Darkhawk character and he does have the power level to go cosmic if the right team got a hold of him.

I'm loving Nova - it really is bringing some great under-used, under-appreciated or mis-managed characters back to light and giving them proper treatment!

    I am officially excited

In September's "Nova" #17, the Human Rocket teams with Darkhawk to fight the
Skrulls. CBR News spoke with "Nova" writers Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning about
Darkhawk and his possible future with the series.

DARKHAWK! It's about time. I really wish he was back full-time in his own series but I'll take whatever possible. I'm confused with those covers, though. Both of them say that they're the covers to issue #16. Will there be two covers?

I always preferred Darkhawk's second design much better. It was just so much sleeker.

I think the issue that features Darkhawk is in fact issue 17.

Well, mildly disappointed that this is taking place on Earth (though the Project Pegasus inclusion dulls the pain- when's the last time anyone used that place? It seemed to disappear around the time they finally, terminally, got rid of the Vault. The 80s comics used to involve Project Pegasus all the time.)

Cool to see that Darkhawk may be a recurring Nova character though- I'm guessing by that he is going to take a place in the more cosmic scheme of things, rather than just being stuck being another Earthbound hero.

Still need Portal, though (maybe he's the other person at PP that the interview refers to? Odds, anyone? Heck, come to think of it, Portal would be a great addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy- it would help them get around in those situations where Knowhere's teleportation gateways can't be used by the team.)
