Is there a full moon? Am I feverish? Is it April 1st? I think I agreed (and liked) everything Dan Didio said about having rebooted characters too much and alienating fans. Or about giving us the most recognizable versions of each character that incorporate the best ideas of all their iterations. Yes, Geoff Johns does have the right idea.
I'm gonna go lay down now.
oh......and Babs in a Batsuit please!

I'm not getting into the irony about Didio's reboot statement, especially with Hawkman poised for just such an event, and simply say I'm kind of encouraged by his "Flash " comments.
I'm just as worried about Hawkman - but feel at the moment we are worried it might be going off the rails. It could be the bad guy was just lying, or that an elegant twist to geoff Johns' solution has been found to increase the level of Katar Hol action.
As for Flash, i get the impression we will be seeing Barry and Wally. Sounds like a win-win to me.
As i mentioned in the aquaman thread, this - atlong last - sounds like sanity.
Not a Zero hour linewide reboot, but the exact opposite of that. And with Johns as inspiration, i feel comfortable with that.
For those uncomfortable with Johns, I can understand that - its how I feel about Marvel at the moment.
I too was very happy to find out that Dan finally is starting to get what makes DC great and it's the iconic versions of their heroes. But I was actually more amazed by the delusions of the Wally West fans, they are actually worse than the Kyle Rayner fans which is quite impressive.
"If at first you don't succeed, try Kyle again!".
Probably the most entertaining DC Nation panel report I've read, and perhaps that stems from it being one of the most encouraging as well. As fate would have it, just today I was talking with my shop owner, filling him in on the Hawkman Special, and we both agreed that DC just needs to move forward already and stop being so obsessed with messing with their characters' histories. And you know, this panel finally demonstrates to me that apparently the readers aren't the only ones who get it. Hallelujah.
That said, hopefully this is a sign that if we are indeed getting Katar back, he'll be a streamlined version of the character, one that finally reconciles his SA and Hawkworld histories into one cohesive backstory. And with Blackest Night looming, perhaps a comeback for Shayera's not far behind. After all, the Thanagarian Hawks will always be the most "recognizable" version of the characters to me.

Was that really Dan Didio saying all that? Wow...
Now I don't feel bad about the contract extension...
Fanexpo has been great so far.

Uh, that doesn't follow. At all.A lot of Wally can’t be explained without Barry, so therefore it was essential, we thought, for Barry to come back.

From a story-telling perspective, of course not.
From a product-perspective, absolutely.
Product A (Barry) begat Product B (Wally). Let's bring Product A back as it's just as popular as Product B -- we have new things we can do with Product A, and that'll add strength to Product B as well.

Didio just NOW gets what fans want after like four years on the job...??? Jesus!
