I think he's one of the X-men most important characters; he brings an energy and experience every time he's there, and he has that all-important "BADASS" role he does so well. .....but Logan always worked best as just "the badass guy with the mysterious past", which I think has been lost over the years(hell he has an entire 50 issue series about his Origins, for Christ's sake).

He's a mean guy you don't want to fuck with, but he isn't heartless. He loves, he would die for the people he cares for, he has many friends from around the world. His experience has given him a Zen master like understanding of the way of the world, and he doesn't just fly off the handle for silly reasons like his earlier days with the X-men. He's grown up past that, and trying to steal Jean away from Scott.

He's Clint Eastwood meets Ken Watanabe, a stone-cold killer and a great drinking buddy, he's the best at what he does even if its not very nice. He's Wolverine, and he's still my favorite X-men character.

Well given this resounding ovation. Can you give me some insight as to why Wolverine is supposed to 'the most dangerous man on the planet'? Because I just don't see it.

I don't think he can take the Hulk down, we've seen those two throw blows. But I do think he's incredibly dangerous. He's this little berserker fighting machine. His claws cut through pretty much anything, he's got natural speed and decades worth of fighting experience, and he's pretty much unkillable at this point(for better or worse); his arm will get blown off down to the skeleton, and he'll regrow it in a few minutes time.

A lot of people are just scared of the guy, because unlike the vast majority of Marvel superheroes, the guy has killed thousands of people(probably much more than that lol). Just the way he carries himself, or his macho rhetoric, or the smile he puts on when he's about to cut loose in battle. Its easy to see why he's become such a popular character, especially with the surprising amount of depth he has.

Thanks for that. But to me that isn't dangerous. That's just a brute who thinks with his fists.

Not everything can be solved with just brute strength. Characters like Batman, Dr. Doom, Norman Osborn (when not crazy) Black Panther, Black Bolt, Emma Frost etc. Who understand that 'there are many ways to skin a cat' and with huge egos. Are way more dangerous and scary to me than someone who goes around beating people up. In fact to me X-23 is far scarrier than Wolverine. She's cold and calculating (fortunately Laura isn't vindictive).

Don't get me wrong, I love Wolverine. But Wolverine seems to be most dangerous when he's up against other thugs like himself.

Very true, but I think Logan's intimidation factor plays into how he handles people. Sometimes, simply the hint of violence is all it takes to win the day. He also knows how to use all of his abilities to get what he wants, like that time he blew himself up in that car bomb to trap Mystique, knowing his healing factor would bring him back. He has many years of experience in the art of war, and uses more than just his claws to gain victory.

But I do get what you mean, compared to super geniuses like Batman or Dr. Doom with their big plans, he's probably out of his league.

But that's the thing; one of Logans main factors is that he is smarter than he gives off. I mean he'e been live for how long? He's been to numerous countries, fought in wars, learned tons of languages, martial arts, and all that other stuff. He knows how to calculate and do things more than one way. At the same time though he fights a lot of petty thugs whereas all he has to do is pop a claw and they shit themselves.

Yeah, Wolverine might not be blessed with super intellect like Reed Richards, Doom, Batman, Luthor, etc, or as strong as Hulk, Superman, the Sentry, but he does have several decades worth of battle knowledge and experience. He could probably write a "Art of War II" book and have the intellect to back it up.

That would be epic. Wolverine just decides to sit down, and write a book to pass on everything he knows.

And that scene is beautiful. Poor Logan and his search to find "inner serenity".

That's one of my favorite Wolverine scenes! It's the turning point for Logan in that story, when he decides to change. He dicides to stop acting like an animal and he finally becomes a man worthy of Mariko.
It's a beautiful scene and, say what you want about Claremont, he was kicking ass when he wrote this!

I'd say Daken is scarier than X-23, he's cold, he enjoys fucking with people, AND he's vindictive...

If Wolverine was the best at what he does, shouldn't he need the healing factor a lot Less?

For accuracies sake shouldn't it be "I am mediocre at what I do but fortunately will never run out of second chances".

    Just saying.
