My theories on where did Sonic's speed come from.

Here are my theories on where Sonic the Hedgehog got his superspeed from.

Note: Going to based my theories on the Archie Comics version
of Sonic rather than the video game version.

Sonic is could possibly be an anthromorphic being who was born
with his power, just like Sonic's pal Tails was born with his two tails and
power, and is there for, in a way, would be refered to as a mutant...at least
in the Marvel Universe he would be if the MU inhabitants
care to classify Sonic as a mutant or an anthromorphic one.

Although, Sonic wouldn't be a mutant since mutants powers usaully appear
when their puberty kicks in but, he could be an altered anthromorphic being
who've been given his powers, intentionally or unintentionally, by
someone/somebody for one reason or another like Sonic's rival
Knuckles. For example, in Knuckles' own monthly comic series
it's revealed that Knux's echidna ancestors altered his DNA
before he was born.

But, hey, mutants like Franklin Richards are able to have mutant powers
at a younger before hitting puberty so Sonic could likely be a
'mutant' who've received his power before he became a teenager
(the same could also apply with Tails for that matter).

Anyway, that's my theories on where Sonic's superspeed came
from.

So then, anybody got any theories of their own on this?
