Default Could a JSA movie work?

since dc is all ready for their first superhero team movie, the justice league . while fans are a little less enthusiastic. wanting the characters to have solo movies before any team movie, for the sake of there favorite characters. but in the mean time could a Justice society of america movie work? at one point the team was for characters who did not have there own title's. they could even call the movie Infinity inc. a team closely related to the JSA, so to not confuse non-comic fans.

the plot could be simple, The JSA works with the goverment in fighting a war (WW2 or fictional war) when a spilnter cell of the goverment brings together a injustice . society to strand the team somewhere in the war zone and kill them

Do you think it could word and more importantly would YOU want to see it?

That four-issue Golden Age mini might work as a movie, but only if the cast is trimmed down somewhat. Moviegoers want to know what's going on, and even brief origin scenes for more than a handful of heroes would be problematic. The X-Men movies got away with it at first, because mutants share a common origin, but the third X-movie collapsed under the weight of too many characters (and poor writing).

thats easily fixed. wild cat's origin is easiest. then you can just include hourman, docer mid-night, maybe stargirl, dr.fate or spectre, Mr.terrific and only in my wildest dreams POWER GIRL

Of course it could work. With talent and creativity all things are possible.

What you could do is set the original JSA in the 50's(in flashback).

One of thier old villians (pick one) has returned forcing the original JSA to press thier grandchildren into the fight against evil.

    Who would I use

    Starman/Jack Knight
    Jonny Quick/Jessie Quick
    Hourman/Hourman2
WildCat/Wildcat 2(the female one the more hot chicks in a movie, the better)
    Sandman/Sandman 3

The original Wildcat would be the New JSA's Mickey-like trainer.

It would probably work really well actually. Hollywood seems to like doing retro 30s/40s/50s stuff and the JSA would feature a cast that wouldn't be able to have their own movies on their own.

All in all I would love to see a JSA movie. My only problem is the non comic fans would make me go into a nerdrage spiral with comments like "Whats with the flash ripoff?"

Done in a retro, warm, feel-good, "hearts of gold" way then sure I think it would work. But not say, in the Michael Bay style.
Think Close Encounter of the 3rd Kind for feel-good style.

I'd love to see any kind of JSA movie, but I'm not sure how well it would do. simply coz the JSA arent well known enough. Maybe give them a tv show or cartoon to kick things off - thats why most superhero movies are so popular. that said, if its well written, without too much origin stuff weighing it down, it could be pretty good.

    O.K.!

    Per Degaton-Time Travelling Mad Scientist

    Vandal Savage-Immortal Megalomanic

The Ultra-Humanite-Powerful psychic whose brain has been transferred into a Albino Gorilla.

The Injustice Gang-A bunch of the JSA's regular punching bags attempting to see if they have any better luck as a group:Icicle-guy with cold powers, Tigress-Martial Artist Chick with Crossbow, The Fiddler-His violin fires deadly sound waves, The Rag Doll-insane serial killing contortionst, The Wizard-evil magic user and leader, Solomon Grundy-Super Strong Zombie .

    Hope that helps!

    Whoops!

I almost forgot: A JSA movie has to have Power Girl in it too!

For the purposes of the movie she'd be the granddaughter of "Iron" Arn Monroe (a 3rd rate Superman rip-off for the uninitiated).

Aside from maybe the first two X-Men movies, have there been any good superhero movies featuring a big team of heroes? Say, more than five heroes on a team?

    What I've got so far:

Milo Ventimiglia(Pete from Heroes) as Modern Starman (Jack Knight)

    Elisha Cuthbert as Power Girl

    Brendan Fraiser as Modern Hourman

Yvonne Strahovski (Agent Sara from Chuck)as Jessie Quick

    Michelle Rodriguez as Wildcat 2

More as I think of 'em.
