I'd seen this story before (IIRC, you've run it once in the past) but it is one of the more accurate re who did what to whom recreations of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (Doc quite probably fired the first shot in the affair). I've been to the actual O.K. Corral in Tombstone and have seen the recreation in the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum in L.A., and one thing no film version has ever managed to capture is just how claustrophobic the real location is. 7 men fired 30 shots at one another in as many seconds and at a range of no more than 25 feet, ending up with 3 dead and 3 injured (two unarmed members of the Clanton gang were present but not shot; Ike Clanton's bizarre mid-gunfight conversation with Wyatt being confirmed by witnesses).

There are minor discrepancies in the TOMBSTONE movie version (and it seems to go on forever), but that film probably best captures the actual feelings of chaos and terror that happened during the fight.

Thanx for posting this.
