So, do we think that "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?" will lead us into Batman's own "Man of Steel"?

I am excited and I'm suprised Gaiman hasn't written batman before at least in say a graphic novel form like Morrison's Arkham Assylum. I am psyched.

I hope that this story would be like the Superman story and could show us a happy ending for Bruce.

*Prays that this is a sign that Morrison is leaving Batman next year*
I'm beginning to think that Hell is a comic book forum.

No, Morrison and Dini will remain on both Bat books going into next year and possbily longer. They've said that they are there until they've run out of stories or are taken off by editorial.

    this is amazingly huge!!!!!!!

I don't get what they mean with "Grant's run on 'All Star Batman' ends on #12, and we're going past 15 or 16 on 'All Star Batman'". Do the mean All star Superman?

    Holy hell that's awesome.

    Great coup for DC.

And the new comic I'll be looking forward to the most.

    January 2009?

    Yeah, pull the other one.

Unless they've got the entire run in the can already, which, knowing DC, they won't, then that thing will be delayed until at least the summer. And Gaiman will likely need an additional issue or two more than he thought, and the ending will feel rushed.

Default Questions remaining after reading this report

What is Fringe? Why are people mocking it?

"Kevin Smith with a new Batman mini (with two completed scripts in already with a secret artist and covers by Andy Kubert)"
Is this the same Batman/Onomatopoeia mini series by Kevin Smith previously announced on this site with artist Walt Flanagan? A different one?

DiDio called up a young woman in a Supergirl costume to stand close to the mic (she was hot) and talk about the book's developments). But she stopped reading the title ten months ago, and proposed to act out her idea of what should have happened.
I don't know what any of this means or its significance, besides I guess there was a hot young woman in a Supergirl costume? Great?

Apparently "Battle for The Cowl" wasn't supposed to be on screen regarding the Batman titles, and that was discussed. "So we have 'Battle for the Cowl ... oh sh**!" DiDio said.

Wayne put the kibosh for a video which will be shown. "It'll give you something to talk about as you're leaving the room." Instead, they opened the panel up for questions.
What is it? Why was it shown? Is the Battle for the Cowl thing the video that Wayne put the kibosh on?

Is Johns supposed to be a steward of characters? Or is "Stewart" a new slang term?

Wayne got caught not listening to a question about trades and said, "Supergirl left, I have to go right now."
Which question? Did anything come of the question besides more discussion of some hot young girl in a costume?

"I'd rather be handed 'Doom Patrol' or 'The Outsiders,'" when asked for a flipside of "Stan Lee Recreates The DC Universe."
What does this mean? Who said it?

"Greg wanted me to have the Spectre DOOT DOOT Doctor Light," Tan said. "You've really gotta check that scene."
    What does this mean?

DiDio dissed a retailer called Atomic Comics where "Blue Beetle" sells out and admitted, "I'm tired ..."
    What does this mean?

I realize time is of the essence with news reporting, but these reports seem riddled with errors and half-completed thoughts and bizarre non-sequiters about people's clothing and women's appearances. Is there a copy-editor or stringer somewhere? Do these things ever get fixed? This is a pretty good news site but these panel reports are damn near unreadable.

Gaiman's always said he hasn't done much Batman work because he doesn't have much to say about the character. Wonder what he came up with.
