Just finished the Clone Saga all over again and realized tha tI really miss Ben Reilly as a character. He was a unique hero and fun, despite the fact that he was part of the Clone Saga (the biggest problem with this story is that it just went on too long, otherwise it would've been cool). Would anybody object to Ben returning, maybe operation as the Scarlet Spider?

Well, one of the reasons they killed him off in the first place (aside from obvious embaressment over the situation) was that his powers were too similar to Spiderman's, and they thought having him around degraded Spiderman's character.
So I guess to answer your question - I'd like to seem him brought back, but preferably with a totally different powerset. Although it could still be insect or arachnid-themed, I guess. The Amazing Dragonfly? Web of Daddy Longlegs? The Wooly Aphid?

He was the reason I really got back into comics, so hell yeah I'd like to see him back via Scarlet Spider oor at least give him a mini of an untold story during his Scarlet Spider days.

It was said that in the mid 90's DeFalco and others wanted a Scarlet Spider series but Marvel was canceling Titles of 2nd and 3rd string charactors. They felt those comics distracted from the main heroes and sadly a Scarlet Spider series never happened. Damn...

Agreed. I have much disdain for the way the clone saga petered out. I completely dropped out of comics before it even finished. BUT I did like Reilly as a character. A clone character.

I would only accept Ben back with three conditions.
1: Don't call him the Scarlett Spider.
2: Get him out of the ridiculous Scarlett Spider costume
3: Put him in the Black and White Spider-Man costume.

I would give him the black costume and alter it. I would either make it Black with a red spider and hand prints or Red with a Black Spider and hand prints. But being called the Scarlet spider it would make better sense to be a red spider on the chest. Originally Posted by Murrocko

I had to vote that Ben Reilly stay dead. I really liked how he developed as a character. Initially I thought it was kind of a stupid concept, but Marvel did a really good job about getting him his own identity, supporting cast, etc. I also think that even though I was sad to see him go, it was the ONLY way Marvel could do it, so as to avoid any future speculation who the real Peter Parker indeed was.
RIP Ben, but just do exactly that.

i really don't care. i liked him as the scarlet spider, but didn't really care for him once he replaced pete as spider-man. if there could be a market for reilly as the scarlet spider (say, living somewhere besides nyc) i might be interested.
and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...
