I have to say, while I'm not following the Superman books at the moment (at least no rigorously), I think that they are taking the characters and franchise in an interesting direction.
One of the things I have a problem with is that they are intentionally ignoring Countdown, which while a disappointment, should still be considered canon (unless they plan to wipe it out during Final Crisis). I don't think that they won't reference Jimmy's knowledge of Superman's favorite past time.
The other is aging. Jimmy is basically the same age he was when Dick Grayson debuted as Robin, and Dick is now Nightwing and much older. I know that Jimmy has always been known as the youthful could-be, but I don't like that they want to stagnate his age. It leaves no real room for development if he can't age with his wisdom somewhat.
YES!!!Robinson: "My favorite character is the one that's based on that semi-homoerotic Sean Connery movie. Vartox."![]()

And if they bring him back (they sort of tried to a few years ago, but they took all the fun out of his costume) I hope they keep him, well, in the same style...

The more I hear about the plans for Supergirl the more I like it.
This New Krypton story sounds terrific and it's got me wondering how they plan to put the genies (all 100,000 of them) back in the bottle when they are done.
And hell yesh to more Alex Ross Kingdon Come Superman and Captain Atom in the Super books.
