Sundowhn,
Bummer that the Marvel thread is dead again. Pfui!
I found that section on Nightscrawlers that you referred to. Thanks! In fact, I read the entire thread. Didn't realize there was one just about Darkholme. However, it ended with a mention of changing the name. Is that what happened? If so, what's the new name, so I can find it?
Someone on that thread commented that it might be interesting for one of the 616 characters, instead of thinking D is Kurt and wanting to like him, to take a strong dislike to Darkholme, considering him as a travesty of their old friend. Sounded like a good idea to me. Maybe I'll write something along those lines one of these days. Now, who would be a good choice for that? Hmm.
I've bookmarked the story site you recommended for future examination. I too liked the Kurt of Excalibur better than most of his other appearances. At least there he was one of the stars, not a supporting character.
Any reason why you added an "h" to your name? (I assume you were Sundown on Nightscrawlers, yes?)
Sadly, they never changed the name. That part of the forum has been pretty much dead since Nightcrawler died.
Yeah I was kinda going that dislike angle with Kitty :P.
Yes, I'm Sundown on Nightscrawlers. Spelled with an "h" it has been my internet name for the past 13 years or so, from the email address I've used for that time (the spelling sundown@____ was taken, thus the "h").
Sorry to hear that about the thread. It was interesting while it lasted.
As for Kitty, yeah, I thought later on that you made Kitty disenchanted with Darkholme, to say the least. If/When I have a character react negatively, I'll probably make it VERY negatively. Just haven't decided who it should be just yet. Oh well, plenty of time. I haven't even finished the first story yet.
Just got a copy of Deadpool # 50 for free and found that Darkholme has a small part in that one also. Wade asks X-Force for help with a problem he's having in getting himself killed.
Aah cool! Thanks for the heads up! My hubs a Deadpool fan and picked up all those issues, i didnt even notice that xforce was in them. Notcrawler's in #50-52 thus far. Nice art too. Lots of inspiring crouches. ;) Nice wolverine save in #51. Looks like he'll be in #53 as well.

"A moment of your time, Herr Captain."
Hehehe that twiddles mai diddle.
One thing I'm loving with WATXM Kurt is that they gave him weight when he lands his ports. You get the inital scrunched pose when he appears and the land then the drape of the tail. /smile That's the way its done.
Also his bamf poofs are beautiful.

For anyone who hasn't gotten UXF-23, here are links to a few of the best scans of Darkholme.

He reacted fairly decently to Meggan, considering that she had first kissed him in disguise as a man. Nicest he's been so far about being mistaken for Kurt, anyway. I've always liked Meggan. Too bad Brian always gets between them. Never have been able to figure out what Meg sees in him, when she could have had Kurt.
@Sundowhn, Yeah, I loved the Damask thing, she initiated it and he was like wuh? in the beginning.
On Brian calling Kurt "Elf" it was purposely doragatory because of Meggan and Logan probably told him to call him that or Wade.
I loved that too. Darkholme would probably snarl at you for calling them poofs

R.I.P Kurt Wagner <3
Always had a thing for blue.
Can say that again sister
The Deadpool issues are pretty good, art wise....a vast improvement over the depictions by Tocchini in UXF. It would have been nice for Kurt to have more dialogue, though. Gotta love Deadpool -- I can't help but giggle out loud sometimes when I read him. (Protect the ruse!!!)
@DevilishRogue
Yeah, the thing with Damask in X-Calibre was pretty funny. Kurt Wagner would have probably purred at her and grinned. One of my favourite panels of him was the one from the costume party where he was dressed as a devil and the woman was playing with his tail.
I still think the thing with Meggan in UXF looked a bit forced, like Remender was just trying to push that in there to remind readers that this guy might not be so different from the Kurt they knew and loved. It hadn't shown them with any real chemistry beforehand, and barely any panel time.

Now, now, there's nothing that justifies assuming Logan or Wade told Brian that. They could have, but there's no proof. If it was either of them, I'd say Wade, since he has a twisted sense of humor. Lately, Logan's been calling him Darkholme. Or maybe Brian had heard him called that long ago in Excalibur and it just popped into his mind.
This is talking about Uncanny X-Force's upcoming "Final Execution".
There is a thread on the X-Books forums discussing which team member will get the axe (entitled, Will Psylocke die(again)?)
Now in the interview about Final Execution, Remender says (in a severely abbreviated version...the underline I added. The original is here: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=37357)
"So we'll get a real good look at where this Nightcrawler's
story is headed soon and then it will take off around issue #27."
"The big idea here is to do something that you don't see very
often with a character like Wolverine. Given the mandate and the
kind of things that this team does, this seemed like the right
book to conclude a chapter of his life and to majorly change who
he is in a natural and exciting way."
"After issue #27 there will be a death in the team. There will
be a new member and there will almost be a complete reset.
A ball-peen hammer is going to come down around
issue #27 in a pretty huge and crazy way. "
Remender tweeted the other day that he had just killed a character he had grown to love. Is anyone else worried it might be Darkholme, and that his first arc might be his last?![]()
I don't think it will be him. After all, they most likely got a lot of grief for killing Kurt, so why would they do it again so soon? Not a very original idea, at this point. I'm hoping for it to be Fantomex, since I just don't care much for him. Don't care much for Betsy either, but she is the only female in the team, and she has died before, so I don't see her as a very good candidate.
Has anyone seen UXF 24 yet? It's supposed to be the first issue in my new subscription, so I'm not getting it from the comic shop this time.
Regarding that costume party page DevilishRogue posted, I recently got a copy of that issue and it's a pretty good story. The other X-Men in disguise are much less recognizable than Kurt. Even he has trouble figuring out which is which, or maybe I should say who is who. Also, the story is from Kurt's point of view, which is always nice.
