Meggan's shape-changing was not a conscious thing at the point where Excalibur started. She had a tendency to turn into a shape which pleased whoever was around her. To Brian that was a blonde, with trailing hair. To Kurt that was a female mirror of himself. She even changed her ethinicity to being black, during her visit to New York, several issues later.

I think some people read more into this change than was really there. Sure, there was tension - especially when Sat-yr-9 started masquerading as Courtney Ross and there was implied shagging of Brian. But I don't think there was ever really anythin serious between Kurt and Meggan, much more than Meggan coming into contact with more people than she ever had before.

I actually wasn't overkeen on Cumming's portrayal. I don't think it was bad, but I really think he aught to have been played by somebody a bit more athletic and better with the swashbuckling side of things.

That is what i was trying to say, although you put it in a much better way and with better examples.

As for the kurt meggan relationship didnt mean it in a serious relationship but they did develop a very strong friendship, i mean brian did break kurts leg over it [although he was generally acting like an arse at the time]

Indeed. He WAS jealous. Plus he was still grieving for his sister, hitting the booze a bit, and had Sat-yr-9 messing with his head. All those little psychic suggestions do funny things to a person.

Meggan and Kurt were never more than really strong friends, just like her and Colossus later on. But Brian did see Kurt as a credible threat. He has a level of charm that Brian cannot compete on. But, of course, he had no real reason to worry. Kurt would never have tried anything serious. His conscious wouldn't let him.

I could see Kurt develop fatherly/protective feelings for her, easily. The problem was that she, after having been an independent young woman in Exiles for a long time, was suddenly all "Daddyyy!!" around him, because Claremont felt that's how it should be.
I'd love to see Kurt try to be a daddy figure to the REAL T.J, wringing his hands every time she comes home at 7AM and Wolverine snickering at his efforts. Logan would like T.J.

No. He isn't. And yet I feel a lot more warmth between Kurt and Nocturne than you're ever likely to see between Rachel and Cyclops. Kurt at least made the effort!

It was a weird thing, but I think Kurt found the concept of suddenly having a 'daughter' to be quite entertaining, to a degree. He'd probably have done a better job than Cyclops, too...

I think TJ needs to hook up with Wanda. Does she realize her "mom" is the cause of the mutants loosing everything? Kurt should really go find Wanda too actually. He could sooth her back to good health. If she hadn't wonked out I would totally see them as a great couple. He might have to battle the vision first though.

I always got the feeling Claremont assumed that he could have TJ and Excalibur seatrching for Wanda in New Excalibur. Why else have ONLY Brian and TJ remember House of M? Obviously THAT got vetoed quickly.

I actually kinda like the idea of a Kurt/Rachel pairing. They've been through a lot together, and you'd have to class Rachel as one of Kurt's closest female friends.

Just as long as she's NOT a frickin' dinosaur!
