No, thats John Byrne, not my favorite NC artist though I like Byrne in general. I felt he was kind of small and cartoonish and dont think he had the presence as is portrayed by other artists but it did grow on me later, still prefer other renditions though. I do love the Claremont/Byne era despite that.

I like Art Adams too and Carlos Pacheco despite him drawing the goatee. I remember his first issue of Excalibur, Kurt was goateeless

The first volume of Warren Ellis' run on Excalibur arrived in the mail just today. Not exactly a fan of the "90's" artwork.
I forgot what an asshole Pete Wisdom was! I would have booted his ass out the plane in mid-air on the way back from Genosha!

Hm, I liked Pete, I thought he added an interesting dynamic with the team, him and Kurt go off on a mission together before they run into trouble. Maybe I'll dig those out.

All this talk of jail bate, I'm 35 but most of the X-Men have looked to be in their late 20s early 30s for some time now except for maybe Kitty. Besides, they are fictional characters.

Yes. Choi's Kurt was the first version of Kurt that I saw on paper (the Uncanny "Divided We Stand" tpb). I thought he was beautiful.

I did too. So beautiful I couldn't stop drooling.
It's one of the few versions of Kurt where he has irises and pupils, even though his eyes are basically yellow. Usually I don't like that, but I'll make an exception for this version.

That being said, everyone in the 60s-70s all looked like they were in their 40s LOL. It was just style of the art i guess. Seems to me their appearance has gotten more youthful as time went on with the exception of Davis' Kurt.
