From the marvel panel: The writer team of Abnett and Lanning have signed an exclusive deal with Marvel.

What does this mean for the Authority???

Can't be bothered to find the link at this time, but they've said that the Marvel deal allows for previous commitments and that they've got a 15 issue run planned for The Authority.

I don't know about a "new" direction. Wildstorm characters were created during a very specific time in comic book history and therefore they resemble, or even represent the gold standard (sometimes), a darker setting with characters to match.

I know that I like Grifter, Backlash, and Deathblow just the way they are. Don't shake them up, just make them relevant please.

    I sadly agree.
How long was this panel? How can a universe that once was so vivid and exciting have so little news? Or are there secret plans to just wrap it all up slowly?

I would, however, definitely be one of the first in line to buy a moustache superman book!

There's not a whol;e lot of needs for details. They've pretty much been all explained in WSU for the last year and a half.

    Default I follow 'Rama daily

but don't understand what the point is of either having a story this shallow or a presentation with so little sizzle.

This is a totally blown opportunity to sell us from another angle on how this will be great. What makes it different from what we already knew ?

I agree that the CBR article is thin on detail and more could have been done there to generate some interest. However, WS itself has been promoting World's End pretty intensively for months now; there was a big promotion earlier in the year (around NY Comic Con, I think), there have been several follow-up interviews on various comic sites, the Armageddon/Revelations/Number of the Beast series all lead in to it, and there's a minisite on the DC website, with previews for the first issues of all 4 ongoing (ongoing, not miniseries!) World's End titles. WS have said there are 5 issues of each title already in the can so there won't be shipping delays. It's a shame that so few comic sites seem to have picked up on any of this.

You i started reading and enjoying WU cause they were more realistic and darker than DCU,MU.

But now its only about neverending events and reboots.

Stupidiest editors in history ruining a great U in so few years.

Wildcats 3.0 and the corporate superhero was why WU was interesting.

Not this BS they are doing now.

Actually, the stuff WS is doing this year doesn't feel like some flimsy 'event/reboot' at all... you should give it a chance. This is several different series that have come out all across the last year, none of them behind schedule, all inter-related and clearly planned in advance, with solid writing and art teams. The World's End stuff includes ongoing series for core books - Wildcats, Authority and Stormwatch. I can understand there's a lot of bitterness from past WS reboots and failed relaunches, but c'mon, you should give them some credit for trying to fix all of that. To me it seems like most of the last year's effort by WS has been directed squarely at regaining the trust of the existing fan base after previous mistakes. Let's move on.

Default I'm actually willing to give WS another chance

just cause the good was SO good.

This does sound like it will truly shake up the entire WS. Anything less than that would've been a failure in the marketplace with the string of less than impressive previous attempts at greatness.

Hopefully this'll put everything on track again.
