Default Rob Liefeld Talks "Youngblood: Bloodsport" #2

Four years ago, "Youngblood: Bloodsport" #1 made a huge splash on the convention scene. Issue 2 never arrived. This September, that will change as the original creative team of Mark Millar and series creator Rob Liefeld return to finish what they started. CBR caught up with Liefeld to talk about the 4-issue miniseries and get the scoop on the legendary delay.

It's funny reading that interview, it's just like every other interview Liefield gives. He's got some BS excuse for delays and all of this other wonderful stuff coming down the pipe. "Alias" anyone?????? The sad thing is, I'll still buy it. I think Youngblood is a very cool concept, it's just too bad that it almost never comes out.

I want to see the comic before believing it. Having said that, I look forward to reading the next part of the story.

Bloodsport, Killraven, The Assembled and the Bible story (Armageddon?)... I really hope that Rob finishes off one project, then moves to the next, then the next and we get a complete project this time. With Bloodsport the first one to be solicited, I hope Rob finishes this one and then moves on. It's a shame his concentration seems to drift off as he's my second fave creator (behind Erik Larsen).

If you've ever thought about trying Savage Dragon but the high issue numbers intimidate you, why not visit the SD Wiki? You'll catch up in no time.

I hope Rob finishes this story - Millar's script sounds insane. Truly, Rob's art has not looked better - he remains my favourite artist. This series could be huge for Image. Once this is done (please be wrapped soon!), I am looking forward to the HC.

What happened to the run written by Casey?

It's late. From what I've heard, the artist fell behind. Best guess is they took a short break so he could get a bit ahead, but nothing official yet.

I'm actually enjoying Casey's version much more than I did the first issue of Bloodsport. Millar is just going too over-the-top. That said, I'll be grabbing these issues as they come out.

But to echo another poster, I really hope Liefeld focuses and finishes the project before movinig on to whatever pops into his head next. When was the last time a Liefeld creator-owned project actually made it to completion?

Cool. I grew up on Liefeld. Nice to see more work.
