Default Mike Carey & Daniel Way's "Dark Deception"

One of Charles Xavier’s biggest mistakes comes looking for him in September's “Dark Deception,” a multipart crossover between “X-Men: Legacy” and “Wolverine: Origins.” CBR News spoke with “Legacy” writer Mike Carey about the storyline.

Even though this crossover postponed Rogue's return, it actually sounds interesting. I'm kinda loving seeing Xavier reconnect with one X-Man at a time (Karima, Gambit and soon Scott, Logan and Rogue) because it's been such a long time since we've seen him just chatting with his X-Men whithout being yelled at. And I've always loved Logan and "Chuck's" interactions, so this should be good.

I do hope Xavier visits Storm eventually.

*BIG* storline for Rogue. Oh yeah, I'm And possibly cut-aways showing Rogue in this current arc and the next one before "Dark Deception", which looks freakin' awesome btw.

i enjoy Legacy as much as i possibly can like a book that pretty much stars characters i don't care for in any real capacity (Xavier, and now Gambit).....but crossing it over with Wolverine Origins is such a bad idea IMO.

Missed the point why the best X-book (along with X-Factor) has to crossover with the worst, but anyway.

Gonna be a dumb question, but I'm going to ask anyway. I don't read the book, but I was under the impression that Wolverine:Origins took place in the past. I guess that's because of Origin.

Does it really take place in the present, or is the Prof and crew going to be doing jumping into a Delorian?

I really love the idea of Xavier searching for his memories in the minds of others...it's an excellent idea and application of his powers...but if this turns into yet another, "Xavier was a dick in the past and knew about Logan's kid and didnt say anthing" or some similiar way of showing him to practically be a villian for years then count me out.

Xavier founded the Xmen. He's saved the world a couple of times. Hell, he's saved other worlds a few times. He used to be a hero and now every writer who wants a big "Nothing is as it appears" story uses him by claiming he was a souless bastard keeping secrets from the those close to him.

Here's an idea; how about having him remember a few heroic things from the past that noone knew about but him.

The fact that you think Legacy is the best X-book out there means that I can't really help explain it to you. Sorry. Differing opinions and all that.

On another note, the article said that there's a one-shot and then the crossover runs through Legacy issues 217-219. What issues of Origins does it run through?

Looks like a cheap sales stunt. I love Carey's X-Men but I'm refusing to read Origins.

I've really been enjoying Origins and I already buy Legacy so this will be a nice bonus to me.

It's great to see that both books that explore the past cross over as well, a pretty clever if not obvious idea.

It's kind of like Wolverine investigates his past. He's now in the present dealing with his son.

Is it just me, or is Charlie Xavier's life full of big mistakes? Not just average mistakes, but enormous mistakes?

Well it actually makes sense considering what both books are about.
