    Default Hellboy Grail Items

Hey all - I know there is a Collectibles thread, but I've never seen a thread like this.

I'm an avid HB collector. Not a completist by any stretch, but I do have a handsome collection fo HB merch from the inception of the brand untill today. There have been two pieces, though, that elude me. Not for lack of trying...the prices are just too out of this world.

One of them is the Mondes Imaginaires Hellboy statue/kit. Do any of you folks out there in the ether have this?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Hellboy-Statue-1...3286.m20.l1116

The second piece I want to find one day is the Eric So Hellboy vinyl. That piece is so amazing...

Anyone have any grails they need to get that HB collection closer to completion?

i've never seen that statue before. however, im not really too fond of it. i'd much rather have the bowen one based on the seed of destruction #1 cover. i recently managed to get hold of one of the eric so vinyls for the mere price of £49.99!!!

Whoa....LoJo....50 pounds!? That's INSANE!? Where did you score that?

I was lucky to find the Bowen statue on Ebay, slightly damaged, for cheap. I resculpted the legs and some other parts and repainted the broken parts. Looks good as new...

In statues I would need the Bowen tentacle HB and the Mondes Imaginaires HB, the Tiki LoJo and the Batman B&W for being totally cool. As yet I own none.

Chillingly good stuff besides Mignola, Slint, M, Knut and really big chunks of tinfoil?
Half sunk in the mud, with one eye showing / a cracked smile and hair still growing /
your hands miles apart, as if they'd never met / you were the happiest I'd seen you yet

    insane indeed!

it was from the forbidden planet in glasgow. they had reduced it saying it was broken. when, in fact one of the feet had popped off because it wasn't glued properly! so i got some super glue and... presto! a perfect figure!! the box was a little banged up but i wasn't arguing at that price! it also comes with a numbered certificate signed by eric so and mike mignola!

if only i was that lucky all the time!!

I do and it's still in the box. I got it before my child was born and it is still waiting. I got it cheap for $150 because part of it was broken; but I figured if you are taking the time to glue together a kit gluing a couple of extra pieces isn't that big of a deal. It's not if you actually do it. :)

Jakob has the first statue. A few years ago I had a chance to buy it myself relatively dirty-cheap but hesitated. The next day, it was GONE. Sigh...

    Hi Joshua,
I have both pieces and they're really nice. I actually think that the Eric So Hellboy is the nicer one among them. I got the Mondes Imaginaires kit quite a few years ago (10?) and had it built and bronzed by a friend of mine who's a really talented kit builder. He's also done the Shawn Nagle statue and a few other pieces for me.

I know that he really appreciated the look of the Mondes kit since it's so rough and impressionistic. That's also why I decided to have it bronzed, cause it really doesn't look like a miniture Hellboy, it looks like a statue.

Here are some more images of it and others that you might find interesting.

I hadn't realised it was that hard to find.
    Or expensive.

had these for a buncha years now and absolutely love 'em. the nagle kit had been my grail since i saw it in a distributor catalog when it was first announced. luckily was able to pick it up for about $50 on eBay of all places. just waiting for the extra scratch to have nagle hisself do it up proper...

Jakob, I'm disappointed that I didn't see Ashley Wood's Bertie Bot figure in your collection.

Same here, so i guess my Grail items would be Mike's first sketchbook, and an original piece of art by the man himself.
