Thumbs up Age of the Sentry Mini-Series!

This was mentioned during WW Philly's panel coverage here on CBR. But Marvel.Com has updated with a feature about the upcoming mini-series. While I'm not a huge fan of The Sentry, I love Jeff Parker's work and I'll be picking this up. Especially since the story is set during the Sentry's forgotten Silver Age years. And nobody does great fun Silver Ageish stories better than Jeff Parker. And the art is by Nick Dragotta, so it's a double win. There will also be back-up stories in issues #1-#5 of the 6 issue mini-series by Paul Tobin. They could pretty much sell me anything with the name Jeff Parker attached and I'd be on board for it.

dare we hope for an Agents of Atlas cameo?

I'll be picking this up. I love parker, and I'm a sentry fan. Good times all around.
    I'm STILL with Iron Man.

    Wow, with that talent involved.....SOLD!

Hopefully Jeff Parker can take make Sentry interesting again and maybe give him a different direction even though it's set in the past.

I definitely think a story set in the Silver Age is one of the best ideas for the Sentry. It seems that it's one of the best moves even for people who aren't Sentry fans too, considering it wouldn't affect any modern characters or plotlines (although the cries of "retcon" will be many). I actually like the Sentry but much preferred his miniseries' to his mainstream appearances.

    should be freakin' sweet.

hope they include his sidekick, Scout, I think there's some interesting developmental stuff they could do with him. Ah, it'll be cool to see the void in the whole trenchcoat getup :).

I honestly cannot wait for this! I'm a HUGE Sentry fan and it will be good to see other writers take on him. I just hope it cleans up the mess Jenkins made of the second mini.

Default WW Philly: Paniccia and Parker on "Age of the Sentry"

September's "Age of the Sentry" mini-series chronicles previously unrevealed tales of the Golden Guardian of Good. CBR News spoke with co-writer Jeff Parker about the series which both reveres and satires Silver Age style storytelling.

strangely the only time that I have really enjoyed The Sentry's character is when he is interacting with the Inhumans. The one issue before or in the beginning of Civil War and in Silent War.

But I do get a kick out of Bendis' making this guy cry and lose his mind every other month or so
