The sixth strip is heartbreaking.
"We must fight on!"
"We'll die. We fight and we die, that's how it goes."
"Then we die gloriously!"
"There's an important word there, and it's not gloriously."

If these become a book, I want it.
So, there's this thing NEW! 5/3/13
Gut-wrenching. This reminds me of 'I SAW IT!' which I'd highly recommend for any cartoonist who strives to create meaningful, emotional responses from their work.
The sixth one? Hell, they're all heartbreaking, even the "happy ending" ones. What horror.![]()
'Dox out.
"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." - Neil deGrasse Tyson
"Can it, you nit!" - Violet Beauregard
"And Paradox is never correct. About anything."- Kid Omega

I really shouldn't have read these at work.
A victory described in detail is indistinguishable from a defeat
This is powerful stuff. Thank you to Coco Wang for putting a human face on a tragedy that is almost too large to comprehend. Also I would like to thank CBR for bringing this work to my attention.
Just a gentle reminder that the crisis isn't over. The death toll goes up by the hour (last I saw was over 69,000), and there are still many towns and villages that rescue workers haven't even been able to get to since the first earthquake. Lakes have changed course and are now threatening to flood cities. Millions are homeless and sleeping in tents. A thousand possibly orphaned children are being cared for while the search continues for their parents.
Finish looking at the comic strips, fine, but go one further and help do something about the crisis. There are plenty of places to donate funds, several of which are linked from the article. Here's one where you can give by paypal. Paypal has agreed to waive their fee for any donations made through this website.
(There's another thread already started on this; maybe they could be merged?)
The Red Cross national branches all have appeals, for example.
