Default New posts not showing up in a certain thread

Hmm, this is interesting. In this thread:
    http://forums.comicbookresources.com...d.php?t=217431

New replies aren't showing up. A reply bumps the thread and your name shows up as the most recent post in Board view, but the post itself doesn't show up in Thread view. If you click Post Reply, you can see the "lost" replies (two of mine and one from another poster) below the reply window, but they don't show up in the normal thread view. And if you write a reply yourself, it presumably won't show up either (except in Reply view).

Any idea how to snap it out of it, or shall I just make a new thread?

Commonplace for posts being made during the back-up procedure. They'll show up in a few hours when someone posts. It's usually when there's a page break that they start to go "invisible" like that.

If you log out and clear the cache it usually resolves itself.
What have I always believed? That, on the whole, and by and large, if a person lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, at the end, more or less, turn out ok.

Interesting. I seem to have a similar problem, only it's the other way around. A post of mine shows up in the thread, but the previous post is still listed as newest reply in the list of topics.

Unrelated: a couple of system icon-images seem to be missing.

    "View Post" from quotes:
    "Sort ascending" in topic list:
"Reload this page" in thread view:

I'm getting that too. Also 'Reply' in the Private Message section.

Bump. Here's another "invisible" post of mine: threadlist says this thread has 0 replies, while my reply is clearly visible in the thread itself.

Edit: Even this thread seems to be afflicted. Threadlist says it has four replies, while there are obviously 6 posts (5 replies) in this thread.

    This is a know issue.

This happens from time to time. Usually it happens around 12 AM to 2AM PST when the server goes through maintenance/backup. It is a database glitch.

The problem usually goes away (ie the post showing up) after a while.

Okay. But what is "a while"? The post I mentioned here first still has this problem and it's now 15 days old.

The annoying thing is that in slow threads (with, say, only 2 participants) people waiting for a reply just don't notice that there already is one. Why check a thread for answers that is listed with "no new answers" in the thread list?

The glitch does sometimes persist sometimes. If you alert an admin, they may be able to fix it.

Just keep in mind that posting around 12 AM to 2AM PST can cause it.

It doesn't "fix" until someone posts in it again, as I just demonstrated with said thread.

And the hidden post is usually at the bottom of a page, with the fixit post being the top of the new page.
