I'm hoping the new team lives up to Aja, Bru and Fraction. To me their book was one of three best done story and art in comics along with GL and Captain America.

Before this series, I wasn't really an Iron Fist fan. Didn't dislike the character or anything. I just couldn't get into this character with the ridiculously high color and ballet slippers, and no writer ever did anything that I thought made him interesting.

Now I'm a big Iron Fist fan. Bru and Fraction have fleshed out this awesome mythology for the character. I love Orson Randall. I love just the idea of all these past and future Iron Fists. The Seven Capitals and Seven Immortal Weapons. It's all great.

I like all the looks Aja created for Danny, because seriously... that 70's costume is pretty bad. Other artists need to give up on that and follow Aja's example. I'd prefer it if Danny didn't have just one look and fluctuated through several like Aja had him doing. It's not like he's a standard superhero anyway. No reason for him to stick to one look all the time.

I like what's been done with Danny's personality too. He's like the anti-Tony Stark. Both billionaires, but Danny's not even remotely the businessman/inventor/executive Tony is. His approach to it is flighty and hands-off. It makes him a fun character.

The problem is that it was so good that living up to that standard is practically an impossibility.

If they make it half as good im fine.

If they keep making Danny and his IF part interesting its enough.

New interview with Duane Swierczynski over at Newsarama. He comes off as genuinely enthusiastic about the book and following up on what Fraction and Brubaker established, his plans for the book sound good so far. I like the idea of Chi'n-Lin being Shou-Lao's opposing force and hunting Danny, and the Orson Randall story seems promising. Can't wait for his run to start already, or at least a worded preview.

Check this out: Wiki entry for Amazing-Man aka John Aman aka Prince Of Orphans.

This was a pleasant surprise. I wonder if this was Brubaker or Fraction's idea, or an editor somewhere. Either way, I think it's neat.

Yeah, I even used the word neat.

EDIT: Ok, a few clicks on the net shows me this wasn't a closely guarded secret or anything, but it was news to me.

Duane's interview was awesome. All most time for the new arc!

So, Joe Quesada dropped a hint about the Eight City and the next Immortal Iron Fist arc... I think it has the potential to be an interesting idea, if it turns out to be true.

Well, we just established in The Immortal Iron Fist that every single Iron Fist but one has died at age 33. And Danny Rand just turned 33. Weird, huh? Anyway, I'm sure that has nothing to do with the next arc of Iron Fist, in which the Immortal Weapons journey to a mysterious 8th City…which may or may not be Hell. Doesn't look like Danny's got the best hand to play, does it?

This book was one I picked up hoping to hate it so I wouldn't waste money on it.

This mother #*$#ing book didn't live up to my expectations of being a complete waste of time, however, and to make matters worse, it was SO damn good I had to add it to my pull list.

    Stupid marvel.

    Hah!

To add to your misery, check out Duane Swierczynski's annotations of issue 19 on his blog: http://secretdead.blogspot.com/

I'm really digging Duane's stuff. I'm glad I can say I was one of the people who decided to give it a chance after hearing the news of Fraction and Brubaker's departure. I hope he can start figuring into the greater Marvel Universe more.
