It's just part of the comics world. Writers and artists make these characters feel real and alive, and it's painful to see them stumble.
Reading Defenders #6 now. Danny comes across as someone who thinks very fast but can't always put it into words. I liked his little "Can you say anything that's not weird?" exchange with Strange, complete with Wong poking his head in to say "No."
John Aman doesn't come across as reckless, just desperate. If he were completely without honor, he wouldn't have stopped to challenge Danny before attacking him. He's obviously got his reasons, though no one bothers to ask him what those are.
