I picked up a Powerman/Iron Fist book a few weeks back to find that Luke Cage was not Powerman. It was some young guy that Danny Rand is mentoring. I didn't get into it and probably won't be revisiting the title again.
Haven't checked out the Heroes for Hire book but I always liked Colleen Wing and Misty Knight. Misty was like Pam Grier with a bionic arm.
Yeah I mean Danny's had some nice moments on the Avengers team but that's about it. Who knows though, things could change with Avengers vs X-Men, I have no doubt that he'll show why he's an asset to any team.
Have you been reading Defenders? If there's one book that shows how much of a badass Danny Rand is, it's the Defenders. Two issues in and he's already done some awesome feats, he's great on the team and plays more of a role than in New Avengers.

What an awesome cover, i'm speechless!

At first glance the Pheonix x Iron Fist connection seemed like oil and water, but in Chinese mythology both the phoenix (fenghuang) and the dragon are likened to yin and yang, so it'll be really interesting to see how they explain this connection and to see how this plays out...
I can't say I like the idea of connecting the always ill-defined Phoenix Force concept to another area of the MU, but it is a pretty cool visual.

That's a good point. Hopefully Marvel will take this as an opportunity to explain more about the Phoenix Force. This could go wrong in so many ways but I really can't help but be exited about what this could mean for Danny. I probably should take a step back and really look at this for what it is.
Do we know if this AvX tie-in with Fist is going to wrap up the Eye of Agamotto arc, or is that just happening in The Defenders?
Honestly, with all this Danny love, 2012 is going to be an awesome year (provided he doesn't get killed off again -- no sign of the Hlythri, right!?)
Iron Phoenix? Looks crazy.
An unashamed Bloodstone, Captain Britain, Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Bat-villain fanboy.
Yep, that's exactly it. That there's this connection will be interesting, I don't see Danny becoming the host but we'll have to wait and see.
The Weapon of Agamotto thread is going to be addressed in Defenders #6, not sure if it's going to wrap up just yet.
No, Danny isn't going anywhere haha. Alonso said AvX is going to make Danny's profile in the MU that much bigger, this shall no doubt be the year of the dragon!
Also, welcome to the boards.![]()

So glad to be on this specific board! Long time listener, first time caller ...
Pleasure to be talking about the living weapon with you all.
I am REALLY worried. Bendis writes a terrible Iron Fist and he's likely to screw up the mythology for both Shou Lao and the Phoenix Force :(.
I hope Bendis does a good job and doesn't muck up the epicness of the Iron Fist mythology by adding something unnecessary but this sounds very interesting if done right. I wish Fraction would just address this in Defenders instead. I'd sleep a lot easier lol
I'm thinking Danny doesn't actually obtain the use of the Phoenix Force but rather possesses something to combat it (it is true that in Chinese mythology, the phoenix and dragon are like yin and yang). Maybe he possesses the Dragon Force?
Welcome to the best fan thread on the boards!
