So who's going to be writing Supergirl now? Robinson? Johns? Both of them? Or someone new?

Looking forward to Superman and Justice League, but now I'm interested in this Justice Society origin story as well.
On second thought, let us not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.

"This is not the first time Robinson has revisited "1st Issue Special," as issue #12 featured Ted Knight, the Golden Age Starman, who of course became a major player in his breakout "Starman" book."

There are so many things wrong with this sentence I hardly know where to begin.

Actually, there was precisely one thing wrong with it, and that was an honest mistake, transposing one Starman for another. It's been corrected.

    Question What the...!!???!

I apologize for not quite understanding ...but... is Robinson doing an origin of the Golden Age All-Star Justice Sociey of America ???
    Or the present day JSA??

    2) Who's in his Justice League book??? Besides Supergirl???

    3) I'm a bit sorry Atlas joins Manhunter and Brother Eye as.... "DC Villain Fodder".!! Wished he would have 'come down' on the side of the heroes.!!

    4) Would hope that Mr. Robinson could bring back Jack Kirby's the Guardian and Sandman and Sandy.... and make them "mainstays" of the DC Universe. He's one of the few writers who could pull it off. (and I'd be deeply indebted.)

Oh, wait,.... I found out the answer to my question #2:
Robinson's forthcoming series "Justice League" will star Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Supergirl, Batwoman, The Atom (Ray Palmer), Shazam (Freddy Freeman), Congorilla and Starman (Mikaal Tomas)

A little research on Wikipedia and you would have discovered that Sandy Hawkins is the current Sandman, and that the Manhattan Guardian is the current Guardian.

    Default Atlas?

I have no recollection of Kirby's Atlas.

If DC's Kirby collections are selling, I'd love it if they could do a "Kirby Uncollected" volume to cover the non-New Gods work.

I'd really like to see the Superman/Challs team up ...

I wouldn't be surprised if that 1st Issue Special with Atlas was included in the eventual collection of Robinson's first SUPERMAN arc.

Or, heck, if it was reprinted in some DC Universe Special (formerly the Countdown Special) book - themed toward Robinson, perhaps; maybe along with Mikaal's 1st appearance and Congorilla's.

Default Continuation of the destruction of Kirby's creations

I wouldn't need a little research. I'm not thrilled that Sandy is dressed up like the original Sandman or that the "Guardian" is now the Morrison "Manhattan Guardian"...neither is what I prefer. DC is very disrespectful of Jack's creations and it's really t-ing me off. If they don't "disfigure" them like this,-- they turn his creations into villains. Atlas, Brother Eye, and Manhunter are examples like I said... and
I want somebody to return a more Kirbyesque Sandman and Sandy ... and Guardian... the DNA one if need be... to the DC Universe.

I would guess that its the Golden Age version based on Robinson's Times Past issues of Starman and his plans for them in Hawkman. Besides, there really isn't a need for Robinson to retell the origins of the current JSA, since he already told it in the first couple of issues of JSA.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives

I won't completely put it past them and their considerable talent, but I will say this:

If Johns and Robinson can actually make me like Supergirl, they deserve a huge raise.

Wasn't Sandman not a Kirby character? I'm not even sure he did the superhero yellow/purple redesign. I just think he drew it for a bit. And even if he did, as much as I love Kirby, comics cant spend all their time at the altar of the past. Honestly, not all of Kirby's ideas were gems. I'd say that OMAC is remembered AT ALL is a fair accomplishment.

Question "On the Altar of the Past"??????

You're right, Booster. The original Sandman wasn't a "Kirby" character... and someone else really designed the "newer" Sandman.... but when Joe and Jack took over the "strip"... they gave Sandman...and Sandy... that ol' Simon and Kirby magic. And the "strip" really shined. Simon and Kirby also did Sandman and Sandy in All-Star JSA for four or five chapters. To me, their art was one of the high points of those books. (But hey, I'm a Simon and Kirby fan... and a Jack Kirby fan.)
No, comics "can't spend all their time at the altar of the past" but they can take some of the best that comics have to offer and up-date and re-do some of their best heroes for today's market .
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Hawkman, The Atom still hang in there.
I just like some of the other Heroes at DC.... like Doctor Fate, Hour-Man, Jim Corrigan Spectre.... and of course, SANDMAN and SANDY.
I want to see these guys come back and hold their own in the DC Universe. That's not really "spending all their time at the altar of the past".... but maybe---
it's spending creative energy to up-date some of these heroes to have them come on the stage of today's heroic line-up!!

I would love to see these 5 heroes have books of their own. Doctor Fate has always been a real favorite of mine. Wished they would "power-down" Spectre, and return a better Hourman.
And get a really exciting artist... and a writer that could give SANDMAN and SANDY an exciting book equal to say... "Booster Gold" or Blue Beetle or "the All-New Atom", or Birds of Prey, or Checkmate or Nightwing, or Simon Dark, ...

I would like ... no, love... a good Kirbyesque SANDMAN and SANDY... MORE than ANY of those books.
Hardly "spending all their time at the altar of the past".... but bringing these wonderful heroes to today's fans. I think we need some NEW, EXCITING BOOKS ... and these heroes, well done,... could fit the bill.!!!

Fair enough. Perhaps a Kirby-esque Sandman/Sandy book would be a fun read. I might even get it depending on the writer.

I'm just not certain that altering, ageing, or ignoring some of the characters Jack Kirby had a hand in telling stories about is in any way disrespectful.
