    Default Hannibal...a little love?

I don't mean to be all spammy, but this is the CBR forum I most regularly post in (well...I was a YABS regular for awhile, too) and I need all the help I can get.

Would you folks check out my comic competing over at Zuda, Hannibal Goes to Rome?

It's sort of a CARTOON HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE look at Hannibal Barca's insanely bold campaign to destroy Rome.

Annnd...more generalized message picks up below:

The artist, Mauro Vargas, and I had a lot of fun making this thing, and hopefully you will too. If you do like it, give us a vote, a comment and a favorite place listing so we can keep up the good(?) work.

Also, a bit lateral to this, but if you appreciate the humor of HANNIBAL, the second issue of DOSE arrives in June, and features Bronze Age legend Michael Netzer's new tale "Party Girl." A fresh printing of the first issue will join it, and includes writing and art from guest star Evan Dorkin. I come up with some really good swears. Mauro's work is in both issues, and ZUDA winner John Zito's in the first. The #1 "New York, New York" edition is currently gathering dust on finer comic book stores throughout NYC.

Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Steven -- sorry if this is obnoxious. I'm just trying to get the strip on the eyeballs of people who share my interests and sensibilities. I'll understand if you feel deleterious.

    I voted for this comic.
Actually I was the first to bring up the likeness to Gosciny's and Underzo's Asterix.

A pitty it's not winning the vote now. (Not that Celadore isn't a great comic, but Hannibal is even better).

Hope to see more, at Zuda or anywhere else.

And I appreciate that very much. It's kind of strange and humbling to see people really digging one's work. You'd think it'd be the opposite, but we've had mostly positive (and constructive negative) response, and my reaction's been ..."Really? Wow...well, great!"

I think we'll be setting up some kind of mailing list next week, plus I intend to finally make a viable website, what with Hannibal (seriously, even staying at 4th is better than I expected to do) and the new issue of DOSE coming out soon.

    Thanks.

Gah. I sound so markety there. I hate even mentioning my stuff. I feel like a robot.

If it's any consolation, no, not a robot. More like a trained dancing dog yapping and bouncing around on its hind paws hoping its master will toss it a treat that it's expected to snatch from mid-air.

    Welcome to my world.
