Awesome. If only they would pay Steven and Mike to redo the last issue...
And to reiterate what Steven said in today's column: reprint Return to Big Nothing!
The best Punisher story ever done; everything thereafter is superfluous (although I have a soft spot for some Carl Potts/Jim Lee War Journal).
am sure steven must get asked this all the time, but any chance of writing the punisher again?
would you do it? if the chance came up?
and yes the new circle of blood reprint hardcover as good as it is, would have been better with the return to big nothing reprint in there too.................
oh!! and please please please please please any chance of whisper coming back ??? god i love that series...........

I don't know if it's my greatest ambition in life, but I'm not against it. It's up to Marvel, though. They have my number if they want me.
My copy arrived today, by the way. They're usually pretty good about these things.
As far as Mike and me doing a new version of the final chapter... like I say, Marvel's got my number. (Maybe in more ways than one, though.)

That's a glowing bio piece 'from the publisher' they have for you on Amazon Steven.
Is that the actual cover for the book on that Amazon page?
Can't say I'm a big fan of it - very bright.
I'm not you.
So you know I'm right.
Well, the only Star Trek I've ever liked is DS9 and I sure as hell ain't Peter David and do not want to be Peter David, though whether I end up like him or not is something else.
I'm asking from mainly a writer's perspective - comics and beyond. And aside from Mignola and Avatar, I hate comics right now.
But, hey, if I've helped put a smile on your face - all the better. And if not -![]()

Wow. I gave up on virtually all comics a decade or so ago (I pretty much only read those I take out of the library in trade paperback/"graphic novel" format, although I do continue to pick up some for my wife every now and then), but I can't truthfully say I hate them; after spending about $100/month on comics for several years in spite of my continual cutting back, I finally decided that I had better things to spend the money on. Of course, there is supporting the work of friends, as well, but that's a different animal.

Thanks. We talk about stuff now and then, but nothing put together at the moment. William's still got one mini I did at the same time as MORTAL SOULS and MY FLESH IS COOL that he hasn't released, called SACRILEGE, which is sort of my attempt to get burned at the stake. And did the second volume of FRANK MILLER'S ROBOCOP ever come out? Covers Frank's original script for ROBOCOP 3, which is pretty near nothing like the movie. But aside from those two, nothing at the moment. I just did a book for Marvel and am writing a graphic novel for Vertigo, as well as one for Big Head Press online.
Not Ultimate, I don't think, but only because I don't see any point in restarting such a character from scratch. Nothing against the Ultimate books, though. Otherwise... doesn't really matter to me, because either way I'd write the character as basically disconnected from the Marvel universe, since I think attempts to "mainstream" the character work against his appeal...But anything Punisher related by yourself would indeed rock. Would you prefer a regular universe, Ultimate, or a Max universe? Should something ever develop.

"Hate" truly is a powerful word, but for two decades of my existence I loved comics, and at this moment, with what I have witnessed and experienced in the biz - - no, not so much. I should probably discontinue the use of the word to describe my response to the current medium. Hollywood has ALOT to do with it.
The second volume of Miller's Robocop hasn't surfaced yet. Glad you're name'll be back in the mainstream. I hope it leads to some good things, whether it be steadier paychecks or whatnot; I don't know - whatever you're looking for. I'm excited to hear that you're writing something for Vertigo. Is this project for Big Head Press your first online gig? Hope you don't mind all the questions.
Agreed. I've always found Frank Castle to be too eccentric (not sure that's the right word) of a character for the mainstream Marvel universe. I've always seen him as owning his own little corner of their world.
Oops; I meant the Marvel and Vertigo stuff. Apologies for the confusion. Avatar isn't necessarily mainstream, though it has made some significant leaps with their name in the market these past couple of years, I feel.
At this point, pretty much everything looks like it will be getting a reprint. Seems like just a matter of time and/or events, but if Marvel could put a rush on reprinting Return to Big Nothing, that'd be excellent.Originally Posted by Steelhead
