It does suck that there are no real Gen X trades, I agree.

What always annoyed me the most though, is that The Phalanx gathered these Generation X mutants because they saw them as the most powerful mutants for the future. And then that was never really followed upon. We never really saw their powers pushed to such logical levels, and then Marvel either killed them off or depowered them.

A huge waste.

I dont know how far I am into it, but I love the bachalo issues. I think I am somewhere around 25.

As much as I love Bachalo's art, his stuff wasn't good #28-31
But his stuff Improved again at Issue 32, which is good

I kinda like how Generation X is handled, actually.

I want all of their shared histories to remain, but the stories never have to be specifically mentioned ever again, especially Monet's origin or the existence of Gaia.

I can live with the Best Of my backissues than see cluster-effs from a decade ago referenced in the 2000's. I just want my characters to survive.

Where an idea I just though of.

What if...Synch had lived and M died?

How would this effect the Generation X series if this scenario happen?

Would Synch try to (or will) get some payback towards the guys that
were involved in commiting the murder of his girl, M (Monet St. Croix)?

How would the Gen-X team deal with Synch if he'd killed those guys
and if he didn't kill them, how would Synch deal with these turn of
events in his life?

And most importantly, would Synch ever be used in any
other Marvel comic book series sooner or later besides
Generation-X for years to come?

What is your favorite Gen. X story EVER???? Mine has to be the OZT one!!!

I wasn't too taken with James Robinson's take on the characters. Added to that the more cartoon-like Bachalo art and coloring that wasn't up to par, I had a hard time getting into it. I thought as a part of the overall OZT scenario, it was pretty weak.

I think Morrison's was a little more subtle than her Gen X days. A lot of it had to so with art. Her room, going to the opera, interests, favors or coffee, her car, etc. She became more outwordly bitchy instead of passively bitchy.

And I'm sorry... the only time Emma's outfits have been sluty were her Hellfire days... and New X-Men. She might be more openly sexual, but that does not make her a slut. Her costume now covers more than Psylockes. And Storms current and Original. And its a comic... all the women dress typically slutier than normal.

Plus I remember when Monet commented in one of the earlier issues how trashily Emma dressed. I think she was always pushing those boundaries as a teacher/headmistress even back then, although she arrived in New X-Men with that glorious ensemble (not sarcasm--I LOVED it).

There was this inference that both her family AND Chamber's were involved with Apocalypse's Clan. I'm amazed we haven't seen her back in 616.

I really, REALLY love the issue with all the bubbles where Emma, under Onslaught's influence, forces Banshee off the plane and everything is just so bats--- crazy. I dunno what about it but it was just one of the highlights of the run for me.

I just re-read the Onslaught issues today and it is still so much fun. I loved seeing the kids flip on their teacher (even if they got owned sad sad bunnies). And I definitely loved seeing Monet just space out of nowhere.

Were there any character developments during Generation X that you didn't care for? I never particular cared for Synch using Chamber's powers for flight. I could understand using it to blast himself into the air, but not actual flight itself. It just seemed kind of excessive. Thankfully it never went anywhere.

I actually don't mind this.

I don't tend to want to see my favorite characters become more powerful than they are, but I could see Chamber adding on telekinesis to his power list. I could just picture him letting lose in his trenchcoat TK-ing the hell out of the place.
