OMG, THIS WAS THE BEST X-BOOK OF THE 90'S, AND CONSIDERING I LOVE MOST OF THE X-BOOKS FROM THE 90'S, THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING!!!!

Mainly the first 30 issues are worth getting and then skip until the end. Pretty anything that Larry Hama touched should be ignored.

I was just thinking the other day how great it would be for this team to come back in an alternate form. I can imagine the plots of the first run redone as MAX series. Those first stories had some really great dark tones and most of the characters could be improved by darkening them a bit more.

Skin would be a lot more interesting if he was more like gang members from LA, violent, racist, maybe have him addicted to drugs. M could become hyper sexualized version like a mix of Faith and one of those Gossip Girls, and much like Thor their would be a sense of dred because of her Origin story. Chamber could be a lot grosser then he originally was. Heck I would even like to see a Max version of Gaia.

The best thing about the Gen. X kids though was that they weren't stereotypes of their ethnicticities, unlike the New Mutants, where every kid was one big walking stereotype.

Agreed. I loved his solo Wolvie stuff, hated his Gen. X stuff. I really wanted to see what would have happened had we gotten Kelly on that book as well. He really seems to get younger characters.

But Skin really wasn't a stereotype. At least I dont' think so. Sure, he was in a gang, but he was a really nice guy under the gruff exterior. I mean, look at his roadtrip with Jono. Classic stuff!

Thanks folks, I will definately check this out, the first 3 years or so at any case. Just a shame there dont seem to be any TPBs.

Have there been any revelations as to who is inhabiting the Penance/Hollow body now? Last time I checked, it wasn't any of the St. Croix sibs and that sharp-fingered coolness was still walking around.
