genX was the best! especially loved the first few issues (and the four AoA issues) as i think its the best bachalo's art has ever been. it kind of lost its way for a while but a least went out on a high with warren's inital counterX reboot with brian wood finishing off.

oh, and chamber is one of my favourite characters, even if its partly because he's a fellow brit (ugh! i hate that term - but fellow 'englishman' doesn't quite work!)

you know what sucks? there is so little love for Gen X outside of the comics(& the comics barely manage to show them respect as it is). Not counting Jubilee, Emma, & Leech who were already stars before joining the Gen X comic, how many other Gen-Xers have appeared in the movies? in different tv animated series? in video games? in Marvel Legends figures line? none! all they got was that crappy tv movie when the book was still new. And they didnt even include Chamber, Husk & Sync. We better get some Gen Xers in the new Wolverine animated series at least! >:(

    Yeah, Generation X was an awesome series. I have issues 1-3, 5-39, 41, 48-49, Annual '95, Annual '97, Minus 1, Gen13/Generation X, and Generation X/Gen13. I even have Generation Next 1-4. And that's alot of issues.

There are quite a few Gen X threads buried about (think there was a Gen X month a while ago too).

They are missed - specially Skin.

(and the real Jubilee & Chamber)

The formation of Generation X was the big thing that was going on when I first started reading comics. My favorites are Jubilee and Skin (I have a soft spot for the smart-alecks).

    I miss Angelo.

Favorite moment: "Top ten reasons why Emplate's lame" or however Jubilee said it.

I loved GenX and still read the back issues I have bought. I think I had the first 2 because i saw them on a news stand back in the day.

Any book with Emma in charge is full of secky. I'm surprised that drunk Banshee kept his hands off she and the girls at the rate he was spinning out of control. What a let down he was at the end of the series.

I always thought Husk got more of the spotlight then Jubilee in the book and wondered why.

Emma and her sister's storyline sticks out the most when I see Emma in the x books today.

Loved them from the Phalanx Covenant til Synch bit the dust. Liked all the kids but Synch and Jubes were my favorites. I need to dig up that future version where Synch and Jubilee were fighting alongside Wolverine. It was a good series and it is too bad almost all the guys are nowhere to be seen. I will never forgive tptb for killing Synch though and then not bringing him back. Heck, this is Marvel and the the X-Men, he should be on his second or third reincarnation by now.

Oh there is plenty love out there, Boltagon. Believe me. Ask any Chamber, Husk or Jubilee fan, for a start - they'll tell you just how ticked off they are about what happened to those characters after Gen X finished.

I was a big fan of the series. To me Generation X represents many things - The only book Scott Lobdell has ever written I've ever liked, possibly Chris Bachalo's most coherent and interesting work, and probably the last time I think Emma Frost was truly written in character.

I think that the book lost it's way after Bachalo left the book, but for a good long while it was a truly brilliant book. I feel so incredibly cheated by how badly Marvel have allowed the characters to be treated since.

I hate to say it, but I never cared for Synch. He just seemed so darn dull.

Well, first he went off to spy on the Weapon X program where they fixed him up with a new face. Then, M-Day hit and Chamber was next seen lying on a bed powerless and on life support with the big hole in his face and body there again. Next, he showed up in New Excalibur, where it was revealed that he was descended from Apocalypse. A group of other descendents called Clan Akkaba healed him, but made it so that he looked kind of like Apocalypse. He then stalked off saying that he didn't want anything to do with Excalibur or any other super-group. A comment was made by Wisdom that Jono may actually have had some kind of mutant power restored, though he doesn't seem to know it. Just recently, he showed up again in the pages of New warriors, using a variation of Songbird's carapace to give himself sonic powers and calling himself Decibel. He's been in New Warriors ever since.

^I just realized the other day & reading this reminded me again, that Jono hasnt had his old look for quite some time now, not since the flashback Weapon X issue that showed him right before he went undercover to infiltate the program. He went from normal faced to hollowed out shell in the hospital to Poccy Jr. And I have a feeling its going to be a while before we see him with his old look again. :(

Edit: well there was the one flashback in Generation M but...that was Generation M...ugh.

I think I would have loved Gen X if I'd been reading at the time. The few back issues I have are from a crappy part of the run and don't do it justice.

I've loved Jubes since TAS and I adore Husk even though my first proper exposure to her was under Austens pen LOL (aside from the Origin of Generation X tpb).

I'd read up on her and the other Gen Xers in handbooks, X-encyclopedias and fansites before though (which is what led me to by the origin tpb). Shame they don't do for Gen X what they're doing with the New Mutants classics. It seems odd they'd do an origin tpb and not follow it up.

It seems that the New Mutants are finally getting their due in the comics again though, whilst the Gen Xers are either dead or changed beyond recognition. Carey needs to get Husk and break the curse! Take her powers in the AoA direction!

Wow...I missed all of that, and it all sounds absolutely terrible. I am a bit interested to see his 'kind of like Apocalypse' look though...anyone have scans?
