In the dark of the lab, Dr. Orpheus sat by his fire pondering the vast cacophony of the universe. He stood up ominously and walked to his desk, grasping hold of the gray skull sitting upon it. With a quick hand motion he flipped it open and pressed down on the button inside.
“Pumpkin!” he shouted, “I am off to do battle with the arcane forces of evil that threaten the very FABRIC OF EXISTANCE! Also I’m popping down to the grocery store for some PIZZA BAGLES! If you want anything call me on the monkey’s palm.”
Suddenly he was startled out of his quest to tip the balance between good and evil while picking up snacks by the presence of a sprit of unfathomable power.
“Doctor Byron Orpheus!” she cried, “I am the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull! I come to request your aid in a contest that will decide the fate of my very plane!”
“By the MASTER OF THE NECROPOLIS, the very Sorceress herself appears to me! She who known for her stalwart defense of goodness against the terrible forces seeking to rend her…”
“Okay, I’ve been astral projecting all day, can you help me out or what?”
“What fearsome task would you have me do oh benevolent force…”
“The fate of all Eternia has been put into great peril. A force vastly greater than mine seeks to utterly destroy it. However the great cosmic powers have allowed me a singular opportunity to save it. I was to host a traitor game…”
“A traitor game? Such is oft spoken of in the Necronomicon, they say that…”
“Anyways, before I could host the foul and evil King Hsss of the Snakemen attacked Grayskull. The castle was badly damaged, and I suffered a near fatal case of poisoning. Making it impossible to host the game properly on Eternia itself. Therefore I have sought the aid of a co-host throughout the multiverse. One who could…”
“And you have come to me, Dr. Orpheus! I proudly accept! It is almost the greatest honor the universe offers to host such an event! I…”
“I tried asking just about everyone. I tried Galactus first. But he was otherwise occupied with an Annihilation event. Next I turned to the First Ones. I figured space angels and demons would love to play manipulator of a cosmic game. But they had already left the galaxy. I even asked Amanda Bynes. And so I went down my list until I asked people almost competent, I mean almost as competent as I am to play host. You, proud Doctor Orpheus.”
“I shall shoulder this fearsome task with DIGNITY AND…”
“This is going to be a long event…”
Welcome to Traitor Game XVII: We Apologize for the Inconvenience. Eternia is threatened by a great evil, and it is necessary to save the planet! Unfortunately three people are not going to be so heroic…
The rules of the game are fairly simple. You just need to pick a character from Children’s Entertainment or a satire of Children’s Entertainment and announce your choice on this thread.
For the sake of uniformity we are going to define “Children’s Entertainment” as G or PG according to the movie ratings (comics, music, TV, movies, video games and everything else all have unique ratings systems so we’re going with the most familiar and the one with the most detail.)
A G-rated motion picture contains nothing in theme, language, nudity, sex, violence or other matters that, in the view of the Rating Board, would offend parents whose younger children view the motion picture. Some snippets of language may go beyond polite conversation but they are common everyday expressions. No stronger words are present in G-rated motion pictures. Depictions of violence are minimal. No nudity, sex scenes or drug use are present in the motion picture.
A PG-rated motion picture should be investigated by parents before they let their younger children attend. The PG rating indicates, in the view of the Rating Board, that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, and parents should make that decision.
The more mature themes in some PG-rated motion pictures may call for parental guidance. There may be some profanity and some depictions of violence or brief nudity. But these elements are not deemed so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance. There is no drug use content in a PG-rated motion picture.
If you want to play as a satire/pastiche/homage character, such as Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, Sea Lab 2021, Excell Saga, Fables, you can completely disregard the G/PG restriction.
ALSO if you want to play a character you are WELCOME to make a case for why he or she can be considered eligible. I’m being extremely lax with this character requirement. Any case with a little thought behind it will be accepted.
Anyway, when the game starts, all selected characters will be gathered to participate in a Traitor Game.
The Basic Gameplay of a Traitor Game:
1)Three characters preselected as the Traitors, called the Bad Guys, will determine which of the gathered characters they want to kill and how. They will then tell the host (in this case me) and the host will post it in-thread.
2)The remaining players will vote for who they think is a Traitor, based on whatever logic they want. The Traitors vote as well.
3)During the voting portion, the two preselected Special Agents, called Good Guys, will submit one guess to the host regarding who they think is a Traitor. The host will then post in-thread stating whether they were right or wrong. The Special Agents still get to vote, just like everyone else.
4)At the end of the voting portion, the person with the most votes is removed from the game.
5)The Traitors make a new kill and the process starts over again.
6) Every third round a Vigilante, called the Other Guy, will be allowed to kill one player that he or she thinks is a traitor.
Special notes:
If you want a special role please send me a private message.
As the host, I will PM all with important updates, just to help veterans and newcomers alike to stay current. In addition, I will update the first post and provide recap posts for the same reason.
Also, in this game, those killed and removed/banished will be sent to a special location.
If you have any questions regarding anything said above or anything else related to the game, I recommend checking The Traitor Game: Questions & Discussion Thread, as there's an FAQ in the first post. That post also includes a link that can take you to the previous games (the link is at the bottom of the post). If you want a better understanding of how the game works, I suggest looking there. If you can't find your answers in that thread, feel free to post yours there, here, or in a private message to me.
Whew. Fairly straight-forward? I hope so. Now, sign up!
