Default What race/nationality is Tony Stark?

I could have sworn he was at least half-Hispanic. He's always been drawn darker than other caucasian characters.

    Has this been mentioned anywhere?

He's always appeared to be a white American to me. In flashbacks, his parents also appeared to be white.

Well JRJR at least confirm he's part Italian in last week TGIF Iron Man. Kurt Busiek once said it too.

Ultimate Iron Man is Hispanic named Antonio Stark.

I've always heard his voice with this sophisticated, Spanish tinge in it. Not a full-blown accent, but just a small inkling in the dialect. This has no basis anywhere whatsoever, it's just how I've heard his voice based on his physical appearance.

    Is Antonio a Hispanic name?

And he's named Tony (in 616). That's like if Nightcrawler has been saying "Mein Gott," but hasn't been German for all these years. That was just something he said. Marvel writers tend to be fairly obvious when it comes to these things.

Antonio is a common name in Spanish speaking countries as well as in Italy.

No but seriously, I rememberthat Stan Lee in an old interview that he always intended for Tony Stark's race to be Skrull.
