Hmmm, glad I decided to pass on this. Hope that it sells well for those who enjoy it though.

I'm not a fan of Cornell's writing mostly. Which is the chief reason I'm passing.

I normally love Leonard Kirk's art, but it just doesn't work for me here. Just not sure why.

And as expected the Black Knight looks ridiculous out of his armor. And where is his leg?

I'm amused by some of the Super-Skrull designs. And glad to see the invasion is not localized to America, but rather we're seeing it around the globe and how it affects others.

    Plus, Cornell makes me laugh.

Can someone tell me when Spitfire became Skrullible Lector?

The new pics in this article continue to look very impressive. I want to read the words of course, but it all looks to be coming along swimmingly.

If I recall correctly Beast took some exception to Cornell referencing Wisdom never having gotten over Kitty Pryde 3 times in Wisdom's six issue limited series. And that it was X-Men related enough.

Yeah. Interesting. I think Spitfire has made a sacrifice most dear to help them beat the Skrulls. Her family would be proud...

I really think you should give the book a chance, Beast. I'm loving this artwork. I thing it strikes the exact right tone for the book. And I don't think I'm alone, here.

Well, if you'd just sprunk up that far, and had a camera above you, we wouldn't see one of your legs either...

You know who her family are, right?

When the Falsworths get all 'bitey' it's usually for a very distinctive reason...

Totally. And that's the way a brand wide event SHOULD be.

He certainly has a very clever turn of phrase, and solid sense of humour. THe latter issues of Wisdom in particular are good examples of that.

    Wink

I'm starting to like Dane in street clothes bit by bit

he should ditch the helmet...he looks silly...just get some street clothes that remind us that you are the black knight and let the helmet go...I think that could work

Spitfire I'm liking more with the new pages..Can't wait to see issue 3

Brian has only one chance to step up as the leader of this team for me... Tessa and Pete always seemed to be more in control than him
If it has Johnny Depp in it...I'm gonna hate it... But if it has Helena Bonham Carter too...I can cope.

No it wouldn't. I'd rather he get a costume that goes with the helmet instead of just ditching the helmet cuz it doesn't go with street clothes.

He's a superhero called the Black Knight. He needs a costume. There was nothing wrong with what he wore last. If he goes to just wearing street clothes, I wouldn't be able to read the mag, it would bug me that much. That would just be so boring and so not fun.
    I seriously miss Captain Mar-Vell.

As has been pointed out in previous threads, it's highly likely that Dane is only dressed in civvies because the Invasion caught him off guard... He wouldn't still be lugging his suit of armour eveywhere with him, especially since when the Invasion hits he is semi-retired from super-heroing.

I suspect that the armour and the flying horse will be back in due course.

And i for one wouldn't have a problem with him having a re-designed costume. But a character appearing in civilian clothing does not constitute a costume redesign.

Kirk's really stepped it up a notch here. I've been a fan of his work since his JSA days, but this is probably the best work I've seen from him. I love his Spitfire.

    Agreed.

My only problem with it is that the skrulls are getting owned left and right (and it's not just in this title), how do they expect to win the Invasion like this?
