    Default Marvel x Munnys

Don't know if there are any vinyl fans in here, so a little background first...

There's a DIY platform toy called a Mini-Munny which I just started customizing on, and I really dig 'em, lots of fun to work on.

So anyway, I thought it would be fun to start banging out some Marvel customs, and wanted to share my works-in-progress so far.

And because I'm nerding out hard on SI right now...

Obviously there's still some more sculpting/sanding/painting to be done, but I like how it's going. :)
Let me know what you think so far! Thanks!

Those are awesome. I think the Skrull is my favourite, probably because he looks to be the most finished.

What are you sculpting with and how well does it take to the plastic blank?

Those are awesome. Do a Hulk!

    and send it to me.

This sig was put in simply so my posts would be bigger in size and not so easily overlooked. I fear being ignored.

The blanks are vinyl. I wash them first with warm, soapy water to remove the film from the mold (used to "pop" them out of the mold without sticking) and then prime with a gray Krylon primer.

I use DAS Air-Dry Clay for the sculpting—it sticks really well to the primer—then sand and prime again with white Krylon primer before painting. You could just as easily use Sculpy, Super-Sculpy or a 2-part epoxy like Milliput.

I plan to keep at these for quite awhile, 100 characters is my eventual goal (years away though). It's sort of the 3d extension of this pixel project, which I have (very) slowly built up over the past few years. The goal for the pixel characters is 1000, so it's obviously FAR from done. One bite at a time... :P
