ARGH! I was hoping to avoid Secret Invasion . . .

The Skrull on the Guardians better be a support person but hopefully not any of them. Argh, this sucks . . .

Rich was involved in the Xandar Skrull war for over a year during his 70's run so he's pretty much going to be involved. From what I've seen in the interview his "guest partner" during the 3 part link is none other than K'lrt as we learn where K'lrt's loyalities lie during the present covert invasion of Earth. Also in the interview its confirmed by DNA that Wellington Alves will be on art duties, looks like we finally have a pernament penciller at last; those preview pages for Nova 13 with Galactus and Surfer are great! Also looking forward to GOTG. Daz.

I want Guardians to be successful. If it takes a tie-in to a Marvel event which boosts sales of an early issue and attracts some new readers, so be it.

If the Skrull happens to be Gamora, who's gutted like a fish by the real Gamora who shows up to kick its Skrully ass, that's OK too.

I'm not thrilled that they're crossing over, but it seems like DnA have found decent crossover hooks for both books. So . . . could be good.

As Agrich said, crossovers have to happen. We should be happy because

    a. It shows our corner of the universe is important.
    b. It will bring new readers on, and help prolong the Cosmic lines' life
    c. By tying these series into the larger events, it shows others that these are not just odd little books off in their own little universe. You have to read them to get more of a complete story.

And lastly, THIS IS A COSMIC THREAT!!! Nova and the Guardians have to be involved. This is what they do, protect galaxies from intergalactic threats. It would be a slap in Nova fans faces if Richard was not involved. IT IS RICHARD'S PLANET. Would we have him and his allies protectect the Kree and other planets, but not Earth? This is the one tie in that really makes since for Richard to be involved in.

I thank DnA and Marvel for this tie in.

I think it's good that Secret Invasion is tying in to GotG. It should boost sales and hopefully nab some readers (and it should be good enough to keep them). As for a Skrull on the team, I think a switch would have to happen during the story. I hope it's Phyla, so that all the Wendell fans have a moment of hope, only for her to return and kick some ass, killing their spirits a little bit . Seriously though, I think the Skrulls would aim to replace Starlord; he's unpowered, thus easiest to copy, and being the leader it means that the Skrulls would in the best position to cause damage.

And damn, that is some pretty art on Nova. It's nice to know that Nova is a threat that the Skrulls have to take out. He's probably one of the most important heroes in the universe, and it's nice that others think that. And the Super-Skrull... I really, really hope he chooses to stand with Nova. He may a jerk, a jackass, a bastard, and all kinds of things that make him hard to be around, he still has a warrior's nobility.

Sounds awesome! I'm lovin' me some Alves on Nova long time! Can't wait for GotG to kick off! Aargh! May is too far away:sad:

I just hope that GotG doesn't have the same stigma that comics like Black Panther have, where it needs the constant crossover to boost sales otherwise the comic would be cancelled.

If I were a fan of Black Panther, I imagine I'd care more about the book actually being cancelled than some perceived stigma.

In any case, I'd be more concerned if Guardians (or Nova) crossed over into an X-Men saga than an alien invasion targeting Earth. If there's a story where the Guardians go to Earth to stop Wolverine from beating up Mystique or something, then I'll object.

lol. Maybe I chose the wrong word, but anyways, what I was getting at is I like the idea of this crossing over with SI, but I don't want it to go the route of BP where every company crossover will now involve this title because it can't survive on it's own merits saleswise.

I think that the difference between Guardians and Black Panther will be that Guardians will actually be good and keep the readers it attracts through crossovers, thus meaning that it can do less crossovers in the future.

Let's hope so, for the sake of future Cosmic marvel titles.:)

Nah, I know what you mean. I don't want that either.

This particular one, though, seems logical, and since the series is just getting started, getting non-cosmic fans to pick up an issue is OK with me. The more of those folks that stick around, the better.

    Couldn't agree more.
