    Default Son Of Rambow

I'm off to see a preview of this tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. It's from the makers of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy which I wasn't incredibly keen on but I did enjoy it in a peverse way.

    Anyhow, plot:

My girlfriend mostly uses her Netflix account to watch tons of anime, but once in a while she rents odd movies that I've never heard of, including Son of Rambow. So I finished watching it, and it was pretty great. One of those rare movies that shows kids the way they really are, instead of that fake Hollywood stuff. The beginning didn't grab me, but 20 minutes in, I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Unexpected, amusing, interesting, and even deep at times. During the last few minutes, I was chuckling but also had tears in my eyes.

The budding friendship between Will & Lee was great, and the stunts the kids preformed for their film were often hilarious. The stuff involving the French kid got annoying at times. Wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be, but still pretty funny and enjoyable.

This was one of the best movies I've seen recently. It was absolutely hilarious, and yet deeply moving - especially at the end. I had tears in my ears from laughter at the old guy recounting his time locked up in the 'cell' too. I was laughing for ten minutes, I swear. I'll have to watch it again one day just to see what I missed...

And Lee Carter reminded me a bit of River Pheonix from Stand By Me.

After I saw it I couldn't tell enough people how awesome it was.
