She needed dick but got a giant dildo instead. It's the overriding theme behind HBO's Girls.

Same here, but with Firefly and Angel instead of Buffy.

Which, I suppose, makes me neither a Whedon fanboy, nor a Whedon hater, to answer Dr. Sonic. I like him in TV, but not as an X-book writer.

As do I? Now we can refer to the space bullet as a mega dildo.

Whedon was an un-ashamed Kitty fan and since his run was over he didn't want anyone else having her.

What? That argument never made sense to me. Whedon likes to kill of his favorite characters, and, in fact, frequently kills off major characters for heightened emotional impact. He also has no clue how to end a show. Buffy ended poorly, and Angel ended as a "FUCK YOU!!" (and everyone goes off to die in battle) to Corporate for cancelling the show. The only time he had anything end well was Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E.

Alien Resurrection ended semi-optimistic because his original script was reworked several times, and Titan A.E. was a PG animated feature film about space outlaws. Joss Whedon has a HUGE obsession with Space Outlaws: Firefly, the crew of the Betty from Alien Resurrection, and the cast of C-List actors/thesbians/comedians + Drew Barrymore as the Asian love interest from Titan A.E.

Default Whedon gave us the best X-men run ever!!!

I LOVED Whedon's run. I still probably consider it THE best run I've EVER read in X-comics. Emma/Cyclops = brilliant. In fact his Emma Frost in general was incredible. He toed the line between good/evil, giving us a brilliant b*tch with a heart. Kitty/Emma's conflict was great. Kitty/Colossus is the ONLY time I've liked them as a couple. He introduced Danger, made it clear Prof. X is the assh*le we always knew he was; created S.W.O.R.D, gave us Agent Brand (fantastic!), Dr. Kavita Roa (love her!); his stories were clever, original and really beautiful. I truly, TRULY adored it. Add to that the brilliance of Cassaday's art = EPIC!!!

I never knew he wrote Alien: Resurrection (1997); and upon research, I never knew he was nominated for an Oscar either (for Toy Story (1995))

It was mediocre body of work with lame ending and lots of Emma Frost whining. But it gave me my all time favourite 'See no evil' cover and the return of Emma's gun.

Colossus shouldn't have been brought back since he didn't have anything smart to do or say, Kitty completely regressed (although my son pin up was gold) and whole Breakworld arc was as interesting as a magical bullet. In short: total conceptual bankrupt.

It was 'irony.' impenetrable girl penetrated. Immaterial girl materialized.

Complete misreading of the end of ANGEL, and the entire show - the ending served to support the existential themes of the show.

Exactly. And it is one of my favourite TV shows finales, starting with Angel's speech to his friends at the end of the previous episode.
