I really liked Matt's relationship with the Black Tarantula on prision and loved the developments on the Annual, so I'll surely pick this up.

It's odd that they decided to move on with this story as a one-shot instead of the main book, but I guess it really wouldn't fit there right now.

So i guess they are sticking with the retcon of BT; from intelligent and sophisticated crime lord to a tattoed member of a stereotypical Latin street gang. Let me guess, another criminal made good due to Matts influence. Oh well, thats life. Anyways this version allows him to be fastracked to becoming a hero as crimelords (such as Fisk) never change sides.

Either way I have two of my favorite characters in one book, so I will be picking it up. :D

Ill admit i was not happy with the retcon at first, but, I came around. I'm sure Bru has a plan.

I don't percieve him this way at all. Cage was never a criminal in the past that I know of. I find their personalities a lot more different. Tarantula seems more inclined to religion (I am not saying he is pious Chrsitian or anything) and has more of a anti-hero criminal edge to him and a 'lone wolf' attitude. Cage doesn't have these qualities at all and has historically always been a team player for the most part. He solo'ed for only awhile ever that I know of.

I am pretty sure he does, but I think someone mentioned a retcon of some sort, so I really don't know. I am not very familiar with the character's past.

I love the character and I thinks its good that Ed is using him, but I still don't like the retcon. I know Ed has his reasons for the change... but the old BT was just soo much better.

Technically speaking he IS an old Spider-Man villain, debuting in ASM #419 in 1997. But if you are referring to "Tarantula" (either Anton Miguel Rodriguez or the 2nd, Luis Alvarez -both of whom are dead) I don't think a connection has ever been mentioned.

I can't say he was better but definetely the current BT is quite different from the old one.I still feel strange about this retcon.As i said,i don't feel angry,but while cool,he's downgrade a lot.
