wow there are some pretty awesome picks in this thread. others, not so much LOL. but seriously some of them changed my mind about casting. anyway, i figured i'd post some of my pet picks for some of the X-franchise characters. in no particular order, i give you:

Josh Duhamel as Cyclops

Stana Katic as Jean Grey

Scott Porter as Havok

Yvonne Strahovski as Polaris

Rosario Dawson was my fave for Storm for a long time, BUT...

I think Christine Adams is just perfect!!!! I'd be just as happy with either one.

Same with Charlize Theron, who was my perfect Emma Frost UNTIL...

Tabrett Bethell came along, because OMG. Yes, plz.

Trevor Donovan or Neubauer or whatever his name is looks the part of the aristocratic Warren Worthington the third, I think. Not to mention he has the potential to look a lot more intimidating than movie Angel if they go the Apocalypsed-out Archangel route.

Eion Bailey as Wolverine. Don't get me wrong, Hugh does a terrific job, but Logan just isn't supposed to tower over everyone else. I think Eion is a terrific actor and he could totally pull it off.

I'd love to see Rachael Taylor as Rogue. She's got the sass and she can look strong while still being girly.

Chris Egan as Cannonball. He's proved he can pull off the farmboy turned hero in Kings, and he just looks the part.

I always thought Chris Carmack would be perfect to play Slipstream, and you can never have too many teleporters.

The more I saw it on this thread, the more I liked the idea of Daniel Craig as Cable. He has that rugged, craggy look, and is big enough. I mean, come on people, nobody except for pro bodybuilders have comic book muscle mass, and we want actors here. The guy from Avatar would look great, too. I think he might just be too old, but I'd buy him as Cable too.

Speaking of muscle mass, Mexican actor David Zepeda could play a mean Warpath I think.

Brea Grant would be a kickass fun Boom Boom/Meltdown/Boomer (lol sorry, i listed her character name in heroes before. fixed now)

Chris Pine would make for a hilarious Multiple Man, while still having the 'cojones' to lead when needed.

Alex Gonzalez as Rictor (Yeah, I'm recycling, but Riptide was in the 60's, and he looks more like Ric anyway >.>)

Kellan Lutz would make a kickass action-figuresque Shatterstar.

Taylor Cole as Scarlet Witch

Alex Pettyfer as Quicksilver. For Battle of the Speedsters we could have...

Ian Somerhalder as Northstar, although if they need a younger JP, White Collar's Matt Bomer would do in a pinch.

Zooey Deschanel would make an awesome Aurora, because she can totally look sexy and sophisticated one moment and then turn around and start eating her crayons.

And the bad guys...

Edge as Sabretooth. Yeah, I know, Tyler Mane was a bad idea, why another wrestler? Well, look at him. This guy has great expressions, and have you seen him in action? He's a natural actor. A good director could totally get a good performance out of him. Besides, Creed needs a wild mane of hair in my movie lol.

Jason Statham could totally rock the receding hairline and mutton chops as Sebastian Shaw. Kevin Bacon gave us a great mutant character in First Class, but that wasn't Shaw. This was some other guy who was kind of awesome evil. He was completely miscast, and his powers don't work that way. Sorry.

Last but not least, Christian Bale would make for a wonderfully sinister Sinister, in my opinion.
