It's funny you should mention Q&C, because one of Samnee's prior comic jobs was the art for Q&C's last arc.
ah ok.... i should have guessed.
And who do you think will follow Mrs Vostock as White Knight and Bishop?
They have to be non-Meta I guess.
Nemesis?
Vigilante?
Nightwing?
I miss the Wall and Faraday, but I guess I will find them in Salvation Run and Suicide Squad.
Pardon the thread necromancy, but... seriously... this story was one of the best I've read in a long while. The first issue didn't hook me that strongly, but the second issue (22) was amazing. I felt like the scene that depicted Josephine becoming Mademoiselle Marie came across as being exactly as powerful as the author intended.
Read that issue through several times when I picked it up, before finishing my pile. :)
I agree that #22 was amazing. #21 was mostly a set up. Personally, my favorite arcs of Checkmate are the smaller character stories (like the Fire arc or the Pawn arc) between the big arcs.
One of them replaces Count Vertigo, who is a meta. (Valentina no longer has her powers--I'm presuming) It looks like a new Rocket Red will be the Knight. And who do you think will follow Mrs Vostock as White Knight and Bishop?

I think this was the best Checkmate story since the first six issues.
Anyone remember the GA/BC Wedding Special? I think Eddie Fyers of Green Arrow fame is coming on board as a non-meta.
If you recall, there is a frame in this issue that shows the checkmate logo behind Fyers' image.
I personally think that Fyers is a great character and think he would be great in Checkmate.
