I'm just as excited to see this as I am about The Dark Knight. The first Hellboy was only OK, but they seem to have fixed some issues I had with it in the sequel.

NBC and Bravo are using some of their people to help promote Hellboy 2.

    Chuck and Hellboy

A series of shorts with James Lipton on Inside the Actor's Studio with Hellboy

Funny stuff, but I haven't seen these on TV yet.

    Gotta love that corporate synergy!

Those are awesome! I really hope they make it to the DVD.

Veering a bit off-topic, concerning the Hobbit speculation at the end of the article:

I submit that Ron Perlman would make a perfect Beorn. (And it would be nice if del Toro kept Beorn in the story--he's got two movies worth of room to fit him into.)

Barring that, Perlman as the voice of Smaug....though personally, they could just re-use the audio track for Smaug from the Rankin-Bass animated Hobbit, and I would be happy. That animated special is one of the few literature-to-film adaptations I've seen where virtually every voice/characterization was absolutely spot-on.

Went and saw a screening of it last night.

I enjoyed it. Even though I found a few complaints about it, it didn't ruin it for me at all. The actions scenes were great, some of the creatures were pretty cool, and Hellboy didn't beat the big villain in 20 seconds like he did in the first film. It still had humor in it, but the comedy wasn't there as prominent as it was in the first film.

Really? I thought the first one was leaden and unfunny, but from what little I've seen of HB2, it looks like it's much more humorous this time around.

Maybe they're just marketing it that way...

Just got back from seeing Hellboy, and I have to say, it was fantastic. I liked the first Hellboy, but Hellboy II trumps it hard. It's genuinely funny, I'd say more so than the first film.

One of the best films I've seen this year. Perhaps better than Iron Man.

Finally, I can get it out of my system (It pays to have worked and still have friends in the movie theater biz), but I loved it.

It has it's flaws, but, in my opinion, they do not detract from the amazement that is the theatrical world of Hellboy. The actors seem to have embraced the world set before them, not just because they were paid to, but because they enjoy being there.

Again - flawed - but wonderful. But I'm a BIG Hellboy and Ron Perlman fan.

That's essentially a more poorly animated version of a scene from the movie.
