They might've gotten attacked prior to getting to Algeria... nah, I think Generation X would have had to notice, then. I realize the comic was in no shape, at that point, to keep metacontinuity with the rest of the X-verse but, still, I'd prefer to think that. :rolleyes:

So, I guess they were just in Monaco for a while before Leech got kidnapped. Somehow. From somewhere. :rolleyes:

I'm afraid, very afraid, (is it just me or is that pic disturbing? lol) but it's still pretty dang cool that you got an artist to do a commissioned Penny! :)

Hollow is the character previously known as Penance, before writers stole the name for Speedball. She was a big part of the X-Men junior team "Generation X," which ran from 1994 to 2001.

A Review of the Marvel Holiday Special from Paxhouse.

THE LONERS: SECRET SANTA.....First off, the art itself is extremely beautiful indeed, as this really reflected the atmosphere of the story... ...And now, on to the tale itself.....

The tale begins with the newest Loner called Namie {AKA the newest RED RONIN} trying to still figure out both who AND what she is....

Anyway, at Mickey's apartment {where Namie apparently have been staying since the Mini's conclusion} joins in with the other 'members' (Julie/Lightspeed, Johnny/Ricochet, Chris/Darkhawk & Mickey/Turbo) where they're beginning their "Secret Santa".....

Johnny gives Julie her gift, which is an olive branch and a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant {that CBC knows }....

Then it's Mickey turn, in which she gives Chris a Yin/Yang penchant; in which he returns the offer by giving Mickey a "Magic 8-Ball"....

Namie then presents her offering to Johnny, in which is a NY Met Baseball hat; in which he give her his own Santa hat.....

And finally, Julie gives her present to Namie; in which is a diary, in order to help Namie deal with figuring out who she is....

Later, the Loners were seen within an department store; with Chris dressed as Santa, Julie as Rudolph and the rest as elves, entertaining the children....

After, Namie is seen writing in the diary about her celebrating her 'First Christmas'......

Again an excellent Holiday story worth reading, and hopefully we'll seen more of the Loners again soon.....

The story seems like you could replace Namie with Hollow and you wouldn't notice difference in the story.

I just picked it up, despite having the miniseries, to show my support for The Loners and because there's an awesome piece of Penance (NOT Hollow, hahaha) concept art in it. Maybe Mimic616 or someone else who has a scanner (unlike me) can share it with everyone? :) The TPB has concept art of almost all the major characters -- Mattie Franklin was left out, haha.

But, yeah, even better than that is the fact that they called Hollow "Penance" below the concept art. Gotta love screw ups like that. Penny's reclaiming her name.

Unfortunately, I have no other new Loners or Holly/Penny news to report, but I trust that Cebulski hasn't forgotten our favorite redhead.

I liked the Loners LS, but feel the first half was much better than the latter issues (it seem to have way more potential and I guess I thought may be it would go in a different direction than it did), and Penance's role in particular wasn't very much of anything throughout the series. It touched base with her, but (as usual) left more questions than answers (same for Mattie).

But I like when writers keep in touch with the "easily ignored" and write good stories with them...so the Loners did have that working for it.
