Uncanny X-Men # 500, the X-Men move to San Francisco.

I hope we can see an Emma Frost and Hollow reconnect.

I've had this scene pictured in my head:

Emma is teaching the New X-Men in the Danger Room and not being nice to them.

When out of the corner of her eye, Hollow appears in the doorway with a little wave hello.

Emma runs across the room turning into her diamond form and gives a big hug to Hollow.

Emma looks thrilled and has a big smile on her face happy.

All the New X-Men students are shocked by Emma's smile and happiness.

HAHAHA, yeah, that would be pretty cool. I'm not sure "calm and collected" Emma would do such a thing, maybe more like freak out that Hollow is suddenly there, but it would be cool to see her being nice to Hollow, one of her Gen X kids. ;)

So, I haven't gotten around to uploading that sketch I had commissioned, but trust me when I say it's nothing to write home about.

Let me share with you what I've been up to in the meanwhile. ;)

I've created a sort of Penance profile on Bebo. It started off as a profile for me, but I got bored with that and made it about her. ;) It's even got butterflies, because we all know how Penny loves butterflies.

Also, I wrote a first-person narrative from the perspective of Penance, now called Hollow. I think, if you read it as if she's saying it, you can actually believe half the ridiculous things they did to the character. ;) Starts off pre-Generation X and ends with The Loners (though the events of the miniseries are only briefly referenced).

A question about a possible new Loners series earned applause from Slott, with Cebulski saying that there are currently plans for some of the characters in different places, noting that it's a tough market for a book like Loners.

Thanks Starleafgirl. The Hollow designs are amazing.

I hope we can see another mini-series at least from Loners.

Cebulski, who wrote the mini-series, said, "Hopefully soon." He said there's a short story with Julie Power coming at the end of year. "Hopefully after Secret Invasion, the characters will show up again," he said.

Although personally I like Penny to be drawn more innocent looking and childlike and a little less.. sexual.

First off, it probably wouldn't be very appreciated if I created a topic specifically for it, but there are several of Penance's old team mates up for nomination for the Top 50 X-Men. Penance was never officially an X-Men, but there's still plenty of others you should vote for. Like Banshee.

Secondly, thanks to Mimic616 and the rest of you for continually reviving this thread in my absense, lol. You rock! Mimic, great pix and news, glad to hear something somewhat positive (the news from June, not from May, lol).

At least we can be glad that she's one of the very, very few female characters who haven't been drawn (at least, not in the actual comics) with large breasts. I'm hoping the reasoning that her "restraints" are keeping her bust back will work in our favor for a few decades to come.

The reason for wanting Penance to stay more innocent and childlike is probably the same reason why I was uncomfortable during the lovey-dovey scenes in the new X-Files movie. For all the years of wishing they'd get together, it's just ... ODD to see it, finally. I think it's like watching your parents make out: you just do NOT want to go there, lol. I grew up watching Mulder and Scully in a mostly platonic friendship...

Ah, I guess what I'm trying to say, in my usual rambling way, is that change is sometimes hard to accept. Like Jubilee's boobs... or Storm's tranny costume! :D

Also, I recently heard in some B-movie horror flick that due to the great density of whatever, it's resistant to the effects of heat, pressure and radiation. It got me thinking... Penance is incredibly dense... so she should, theoretically, be resistant to the effects of heat, pressure, and radiation. The molecules of her body may be packed so tightly that she wouldn't suffer from radiation poisoning or that it'd take much longer for it to effect her.

It'd also, finally, explain why she wasn't bothered by sitting on that grill eating the hotdogs back in Generation X issue number... I wanna say 18? Something like that. You get the point. I was always worried about that, when I saw it. I mean, you'd think that it'd be pretty hot, you know? Lol.

...Yeah. These are the things I think about when there's no new Loners news! Let that be a lesson to you, Marvel! Lol.

But, more seriously, what are you folks looking forward to, besides Loners? I was thinking about that new NYX volume... and anything by Cebulski. And anything starring former Gen-Xers. Wonder if New Warriors is still around and if it's gotten any better...

The Avengers Fairy Tales stories are really good.

We got Darkhawk appearing in Nova soon. I'm still collecting New Warriors for the team aspect, but I really want that book to pick up the pace.

I've just attended the Fan Expo, lots of fun! CB was very helpful with some Loners questions I had.

Wow, cool, thanks for sharing, Mimic! It's just really awesome how you keep getting commissions of her done.

And that second one makes me think of Penance as an anime series.

Finally finished my latest Penance/Hollow fanvid, available for viewing on YouTube. I put a lot of time and effort into it and I think it's my best one yet. After the introductory part (with the necessary exposition, courtesy of Jubilee), it gets rather fast-paced, so keep your eyes glued to it or you might miss something. ;)
