Yes, as already stated we educate them on how contracts work, what their rights are, and the facts on intellectual property. We also keep a database of publishers with reviews, either good or bad, to help freelancers when chosing gigs.

We are a non-profit organization. All donations go to help freelancers in one way or another.

in that case have you thought of applying for any sort of Federal grant? a cause such as this would take a fair amount of strain off of the already over worked legal system, i have no doubt you'd be approved.

Probably not. The sad fact is that most freelancers never sue when stiffed. They usually just eat the loss and chalk it up to "paying dues" in the comic industry. Even with us paying filing costs and assisting with the suit, people are still hesistant to file.

It's an attitude we're trying to change but I don't see us as taking a burden away from the courts through education.

Mac, I sent you an email... just thought I'd mention here so you'd be on the lookout for it.

    Thanks!

The message preceding that list is coming from Tom; if I'd had any say in it, I wouldn't have been listed, since it's a little self-serving to thank ourselves for contributing. I appreciate that Tom mentioned me, but the truth is he does most of the heavy lifting around here.

I know that list is from a while ago, but as I like to give attention to UnScrewed, could I reprint that in my books? I can add Tom via PhotoShop. Whatever happened to the Anthology?

The Unscrewed! website has been totally rebuilt. There were a lot of bugs in the previous version of the site that just made it a constant battle to keep running smoothly. The new version will have all new bugs but hopefully not the kind of bugs that prevent people for being able to register.

There is also a new Unscrewed! store up over at Zazzle:
