Default Stacy X, The Marmite of X-fans?

Title explanation: Marmite is a popular spread in Britain which runs an avertising campagin thats says 'You either love it or hate it'. All my UK friends should have enjoyed that...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

M-Day saw a large number of mutants decimated some we loved and some wed jsut plain forgotten exsisted. Stacy X was one such mutant. In ehr tiem with the X-Men she garned both love and absolute disgust by X-fans from her prostitute occupation to her secret love of Angel which led to friction with Husk. With her apparent movement into permanent limbo i was jsut wodnering what did you guys think of her?

Personally, i loved Stacy. She had a cool power, had an origin that made her different from the random one dimensional x-woman you seem to get alot of, she was part of a very interesting roster (Wolverine, Chamber, Angel, Nightcrawler, Stacy X and Iceman) which i felt needed more of a chance (read the arc where the take on the now drug dealign Vanisher...its great), and she had an emotional story that i actually was interested in Her love of Warren was fascinating as her fear of intimacy seemed like it would sabotage it. She interacted with all other characters on her squad well (fliritng with Chamber, joking with Nightcrawler and Iceman and a very deep relationship with Wolveirne that i felt could have turned into a great romantic relationship). More than anythign i felt Stacy offered something that the team didnt necessarily have at the time a character who will go 'screw this' if she thinks theyre acting stupid. A cvharacter thatw asnt totally in lvoe with Prof X.

For all this and more i will miss Stacy...

now you guys rip into her lol.

I can't get past Stacy-X. She reminds me of this character I used to read in a fan-fic in '96 called "Harmony." She controlled pheromones/hormones, and hilarity ensured amongst the X-Crowd.

It was such a good fanfiction, that I find Stacy-X must be a cheap "serious" knockoff. Nothing beats Harmony.

I enjoyed her. With her being in X3, I bet they will bring her back powered up. Plus, recent events in New X-Men have made room in the Universe for a pheremone based hero...

Or maybe they will just Ultimize her for Ultimate XMen.

Stacy X just never did anything for me. I felt like she was a writers tool to make UXM more edgy by adding in an ex-slut (No, I'm not talking about Emma, I actually like her). I actually thought her debut issue was well done though.. the cover was hilarious, and so was Icemans reaction to her first phermone use

I don't think she's a love her/hate her type of character. many of the posters I've seen are just completely indifferent, mostly because much of her page time was in Austen's work, and a lot of us just try to forget that stuff ever happened.

Stacy X was pretty cool. I liked her interaction with the other X-men. I think it was quite lame to get her packing and leaving yet another dangling storyline. That tape that Stacy gets from the surveillance cams at her old job. It was obviously building up to something. But I guess we'll never know. It's been years, they won't touch it.
As for Chuck Austen, his first issues in Uncanny X-men were pretty good. It all went bananas when he got those lame villians (Dominant Species) Oh, and he made Polaris a lunatic! Thanks a lot. another word: Draco... Ugh...

I've read stuff about her, and I have to say her powers and backstory are much much more interesting than other characters.

    i LOVE stacy x.
it was refreshing to see an x-woman who wasn't portrayed like a frickin' saint. she was absolutely multi dimensional until Austen picked her up, then she was just the loud whore. i liked her prostitute background. i thought was a shame that it was part of her downfall from wishy washy editorial, but they'll let slutty ex-assasin wolverine on three different teams...and HE sluts it up for free!

i would love her to get some play (no pun intended) when the mutants get their powers back (c'mon, you know they will....Joe Q also said that no characters would return from the dead while he was EIC, and see how long that lasted?)

I think i can pinpoint when Uncanny took a dive...it was right after the Northstar one issue story...that was the last great story then came crap like the Draco and boring team members like Havok and Polaris.

Before that the team was great, the tension between Logan and Warren. The angst of kurt. The sizzling sex appeal between Husk and Angel and Stacy it was all good.

Havok and Polaris are 2 of my favourite characters. They are great characters. And Polaris was totally ruined by Austen. He writes great character driven stories. But the action driven stuff is just blah... Even after the "downfall" he wrote an ok story in the Draco prologue. That story with Mystique getting pregnant and abandoning Kurt.

Gosh, I LOVED Stacy X!! She's one of my favourite female X-Men. Maybe as a fellow slutty loud-mouthed arrogant bitch, I can really relate to her! :D Everything about her was interesting, and she was Casey's high-point in his run. Even when Austen handled her and all she did was make sex-related jokes, I still liked her a lot!

And I hated how she got the boot while a million other typical goody-two-shoes X-Women are still running around and be alike. At least we got Mystique now!! :D

Here's hoping that one day she gets back her powers and returns as a renowned mutant porn star! That could bring a lot of human fans at the side of the mutants! :P

I was never really a huge fan of Stacy X...I think I just didn't really care one way or the other. But I liked her "goodbye" video to Warren.

...more importantly, now I feel the urge to go to the World Markey and try marmite, if only to see if it's as awful as everyone says...

    She's so twisted...I love it.

I've never read a comic she appeared in, but I like her conceptually.

Good powers, good visual design (although I prefer when artists make her markings look a bit more organic and blended, less stark and painted-on), and I like that her background makes fitting into a team dynamic difficult. I caught a bit of how she couldn't stop playing games with the men on the team. I thought it was believable and interesting. I dig her.

I just think Marvel wussed out when they named her Stacy-X instead of X-Stacy or Ecstasy. "Oh no! It's a drug! It's like we'd be killing children ourselves! I want to curl up in the fetal position, enjoy a cup of warm milk, listen to Dr. Laura, and nurture the fresh scars from my testicle-ectomy."

I mean, they already have a character named Dr. Bong, for chrissake! And if coincidentally drug-named characters are unacceptable, how do they justify all their characters named after lethal weapons?

(It's a disgusting love story. Just humor us, folks.)
