I say almost, because Kyle/Yost do awesome with X-23. something I would have thought impossible when I first heard of the character.

I'll always love Joss Whedon for bringing Kitty back to the forefront, even though I may not always agree with what he's done with her character.

I *almost* picked Emma too, Morrison was magic on the X-men in general imo. Nostalgia (for awesome Rogue) got the better of me tho. :D

Carey's Rogue, PAD's Madrox and Morrison's Emma (although I prefer his Jean) are my favorites.

As much as I love what Yost and Kyle had done with X-23 and the way Carey has made Rogue awesome again, I had to go for Morrison's Emma.

Quietly's bizarre desgin apart, she was extremely fabulous then.

Carey with Rogue by far.Her persona her life,her conflicts and leading the X-Men all of this has been top notch writing.

PAD's development of Madrox has been nothing short of brilliant. It took about 3 pages of the Madrox mini to turn him into a character capable of supporting a book.

Kyle & Yost's use of X-23 has been very impressive, and very restrained, in my opinion. Still a work in progress, though. There's still a lot to do with her, and hopefully it will happen with her current teammates, in some form. Of course, you have to include the two X-23 minis as well. Both very good, and the second one, especially, is integral to the character that they're creating.

Morrison's Emma of course, he did her best from all the Emma's I've read.
Though I do like some of the others, especially Claremont's Betsy, I can't help but love her. Rogue and Madrox under Carey and David are great as well.

Whedon's Kitty is fine, but I find myself irritated with her sometimes, her and Peter tend to scream Buffy and Angel lite to me at times. Actually it comes up every so often that I feel that his characters resemble some of the ones from the Buffy-verse quite a bit.

Is it wrong that I still think of Lockheed as a pet now that he's super smart?

Anyways, Morrison's Emma gets my vote. He made something amazing out of her.

Although, I have Layla under PAD as a close #2.
