Default The Gods of (Insert Name of Place Here) [Discussion / Sign-Up]

    Each player is a God/Goddess/God-thing.

They all live on a planet, and have followers, and a couple (As in two, but more is acceptable) of Domains of Power. Hilarity (or giant epic wars, which count as hilarity for some gods) ensues.

You'll be playing as your god, and also controlling some of your worshipper's actions most likely.

The RP starts before the creation of the planet this is set on with the gods immediatley going about creating everything.

You get to create a race, or more. If you can, stick with one. My won't, but for a special reason that will be explained. Humans are off-limits, they just kinda sorta pop up for unknown reasons. Elves as a whole are off limits as well, but the individual varieties can be created.

From their, we go off as we please.

    Name:
    Domain:
    Usual appearance:
Chosen Race: (if applicable - you decide to make a race of your own that'll be primarily your worshippers)
    Personality:
Granted Abbilities: (What sort of abbilities do races get for following you?)

    Name:
    Domain:
    Usual appearance:
    Chosen Race:
    Personality:
    Granted Abbilities:

Name: Noname (No-name) AKA Nameless One, God Mage, and Great Changer
Domain: Change (At first), Magic (Later on)
Usual appearance: A purple cloak, gloves, and boots filled with ethereal darkness. Only the three eyes in the cloak stand out. The right is blue, the left is red, and the upper one is yellow. It carries a purple wizard staff with knob at the top.
    Chosen Race: N/A
Personality: Eccentric, jealous, ammoral, and distant if not nosey
Granted Abbilities: N/A, although it did grant the God's Tongue to wizards, that doesn't count

Also, the magic system is split between the four different spell casters.

Gods: You guys. You have unlimited energy and a language (God's Tongue) that can change reality. However thew ords and phrases you have (Spells), although nigh unlimited, is all themed by your domain. The spells are instinctive, so you can't go manipulating it. The only exception is Noname who has taken the time to study the God's Tongue and break it down for what it really is. Also, although the gods of unlimited energy for spell casting, they can only siphon so much at a time. How much is dependent on how many followers you have (Except in the beggining when you have quite a bit of power at your disposal). The only exception, again, is Noname who has no followers but used its knowledge of the God's Tongue to tap its primordial force to become equal to a god with a healthy amount of followers.

Clerics: Those who pray to their god and our granted power. Like their gods, the spells they get our limited by the god's domain. Only Noname has no clerics since it dropped the domain of Change soon (Relatively) after the creation of all thing and picked up Magic, and Magic isn't a domain that can be dominated by even the likes of a god. Siphoning the divine power will drain them of their strength, but not as much other spell casters. Their warrior equivalents are Paladins.

Sorcerors: Demi-gods, spawn of god and mortal or at least of same blood line as a god, who know the God's Tongue instinctively as well. However, the amount of spells they have is much more limited than their divine ancestors. Casting spells drains strength but demigod tend to have that in abundance. Thier warrior equivalent are Warlocks. Cleric Sorcerors are known Bishops.

Wizards: After learning the basis of the God's Tongue, Noname descended to the Material Plane and shared his secrets to the mortals. Mortal beings without divine descent have a harder time grasping the god tongue. Unlike the gods and their spawn, however, they are not limited to a domain or theme. Although it takes the longer to cast a spell, preparing a spell before hand (Like writing it down) cuts casting time, but the writing will fade unless it is carved or written with special ink or blood. Wizard tend to have the worst of it with energy drain since they have as much drain as a sorceror but not the same abundance of energy a sorceror has. This can be fixed in several ways, such as learning how to conserve energy, raising the amount of energy available, or finding outside sources of power to tap like an untilligent power or unwitting deity. Their warrior equivalent are Knights. Wizard Sorcerers are known as Mages. Wizard Clerics are known as Witches.

Psionics: Although, techically not spellcaster, they have supernatural powers derived from the mind. Certainly less epic than wizards, their powers are easier to use and severely less draining. Their warrior equivalent are Jedi. Psionic Wizards are known as Sith. Psionic Clerics are known as Heralds. Psionic Sorcerors are known as Users.

Describe the Dominion Wraths better. Also, you can add more domains, like War since it fits in with Destruction.

Is it okay if I have 2 races?

Domain refers to the theme of the god. Yours seems to be the Sun, possibly Light as well.

Could I have a better description of these Chosen Races please?

Also, it is assumed that Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Orc, and Halfling exist without the aid of the gods for... some... reason.... They are considered Free Races and can choose which god they worship, or not to worship a god at all, although certain races will gravitate towards certain gods.

Then their are the Changed Races. These are the doing of Noname, who cannot create races of its own so contents itself with changing other races, be they Chosen or Free. This make Noname a particularly unpopular god with its fellow deities.

Also, a new section to be added to the profile of your god.

Granted Abbilities: What sort of abbilities do races get for following you?

A real quick description: The Ferens are a manatee/whale like four armed peaceful fully aquatic species.
The currently unnamed race is more of a warrior race. And more amphibious (they can go on land).
I'll add more info on both.

Granted Abbilities: What sort of abbilities do races get for following you?
I'll have to think about it.

    Always fun...

    W00T!! It's smiting time!!

The RP starts before the creation of the planet this is set on with the gods immediatley going about creating everything.
I think we need Ninja!! Ninja rock!!

You get to create a race, or more. If you can, stick with one. My won't, but for a special reason that will be explained. Humans are off-limits, they just kinda sorta pop up for unknown reasons. Elves as a whole are off limits as well, but the individual varieties can be created.

Like you could constrain deities to do else. ;)

    Name:
    Domain:
    Usual appearance:
Chosen Race: (if applicable - you decide to make a race of your own that'll be primarily your worshippers)
    Personality:
Granted Abbilities: (What sort of abbilities do races get for following you?)
    Name: Haxxor
Domain: Luck, Trickery, Thievery and Partying.
Usual appearance: A small, young, usually inconspicuous (supernaturally so) member of whatever race he's manifesting near.

If he's going for Grandeur it's the Godfather look with a suit and tie (even if they won't come into fashion for a few thousand years) on a plump tall man.

Of course as a master of Trickery, the above is a generalization at best. He can and often does change up his looks just to go unnoticed, garner more attention, or just to shake things up.

Chosen Race: Kitsune, although amongst the Free-Races he prefers Humans, who seem have a very strong yen for the kind of fun and mischief he brings.

Personality: Chaotic. Whether he's Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral depends mostly on your Point of View. Lady Luck is a fickle mistress, and in this world Haxxor is that role. For you then against you, Whatever keeps him amused.

He rarely does Evil per-say, mostly because suffering isn't amusing (usually). Specifically when it comes to his worshippers, very rarely will bad luck be what it seems. It is an amusing delight to make Bad luck yield good results. He also will invent the "Percepts of Honorable Thieving", in an attempt to curb the worse parts of thieves. I will get more into that later.

Granted Abbilities: Luck and good Beer/wine.
Good Beer: Wherever people gather and throw dice, or play cards, there will be drink flowing freely. Amongst the worshippers of Haxxor it tends to be very good drink indeed. That makes the partying all that much better.

Luck: While he tends towards favoring his individual worshippers, a nation that gets Haxxor worship going widespread enough for him to notice is a Lucky nation indeed. While he seldom does overt things (especially things that would mess with other gods' portfolios) little things go right for the race/nation that could snowball into bigger effects. Your spy trips, falls and lands in just the right place to intercept a carelessly discarded battle-plan?? How lucky for your side... The horse that was going to carry an enemy assassin to your king threw a shoe and ended up dropping him in a ditch?? How lucky could you be??

Also, the magic system is split between the four different spell casters.

Gods: You guys. You have unlimited energy and a language (God's Tongue) that can change reality. The only exception, again, is Noname who has no followers but used its knowledge of the God's Tongue to tap its primordial force to become equal to a god with a healthy amount of followers.
Theives will become his most devoted followers, although Gamblers, party animals and other ne'er do wells often end up as solid prayers.

Clerics: Those who pray to their god and our granted power. Like their gods, the spells they get our limited by the god's domain. Siphoning the divine power will drain them of their strength, but not as much other spell casters.
His clerics tend to specilize amongst theives/trickery or Partying/Luck lines. Although he's willing to grant themed spells to any of them.

Sorcerors: Demi-gods, spawn of god and mortal or at least of same blood line as a god, who know the God's Tongue instinctively as well. However, the amount of spells they have is much more limited than their divine ancestors. Casting spells drains strength but demigod tend to have that in abundance.
Something tells me a God that thrives on drunkeness and gambling will end up with more than a few of these spread over the world. :o

    Other Information:

Kitsune: A Race of fox-people. They tend to be cute and helpless looking, although they are really fairly tough (and have a wicked bite).

Grown Kitsune are still relatively small, being about half the size of a human. A more reliable method for knowing how old one is is to count the tails. They have beautiful fox-tails, and grow more the older they get. One going through adolescence will have five. Most Kitsune tend to live around 500 years if nothing kills them off.

Ktisune tend to be pranksters and inordinatly fond of shiney objects which they tend to "borrow" from others. While they have no more inherrent abilities towards Magic than any other race, Haxxor imbued them with a form of shapeshifting, allowing them to assume the form of any humanoid or canine that pleases them.

Their orginization tends towards a tribal level rather than the great nations that humans (et. al) are capable of. However this is mitigated by the willingness of Kitsune to Infiltrate and live amongst other races for some time.

Here we see a Young Kitsune, practicing to be a ninja when he grows up. *wink*

    He's obviously having fun!!

Tanuki: When Noname Changed the Kitsune they became the Tanuki. They are Raccoon-people who are easily noticed by their oversized genitals. Unlike their foxy cousins, they never grow more than one tail.

Grown Tanuki tend to be shorter than an equally old Kitsune, but usually are plumper. This is because they tend to like good food and drink much more than any sort of exercise that doesn’t involve mating. Most Tanuki live to be around 450 unless they drink themselves to death before then.

Tanuki as a stereotype are a fun loving bunch. However they tend to have very little in the way of modesty; and a lot of their fun involves copious amounts of alcohol. Therefore it is advised that humans avoid their parties unless they are prepared for that.

When Noname Changed the Tanuki, more than their physical traits changed. Their shape shifting changed too, and now as a result they cannot become humanoid or canine. Instead their power is to mimic inanimate objects.

While Kitsune tend to infiltrate Free Race society with some frequency, Tanuki are even more social creatures and cannot thrive without lots of other people. Thus the more people and the more variety, the more interesting the Tanuki tend to find it.

Observe the Tanuki changing her shape to amuse herself...

Percepts of Honorable Thieving: In an attempt to curb the baser impulses of his worshippers (and provide them with a better means) Haxxor wrote the Percepts of Honorable Thieving.

This concerns the honorable thief with whom and how badly one should rob. It encourages theives to avoid the poor (for they have little to give, and it would be wrong to take even that) the one for whom life has given hardships (much the same reasons) and encourages them to rob the wealthy (as they have lots of money and thus can afford to lose some of it), and using only enough force to take their goods. Killing people will not only earn you the wrath of other people, but ensures that there is one less rich person for you to rob in the future.

Likewise it sets down the basis for an "honorable" crime guild, encouraging it to be a meritocrity, and discouraging assassination as a means of promotion. Wisdom and intelligence should be honored much more than an itchy knife finger and a freedom with poisons.

Well, time to throw my lot in.

    Name: Zerion the Hollow

    Domains:
    Nothingness, Pain, Sorrow, Death

Usual Appearance: A giant bleached white skeleton in a black cloak. He has six arms. The two main arms hold a large warscythe. The other 4 hold sickles.

Chosen Race: Reavers. They are black, monstrous beings filled with fell might and vicious cunning. More info on them later.

Personality: Neutral Evil. Zerion is all about making sure others lose, especially if he can't win. Suffering is amusing to him, and so is the despair of others.

    More information later.

Also, guys, if you feel like it, go ahead and make a second god that opposes your first if yours has a sensical opposite. The god of somberness doesn't make much sense, nor does a god of justice to oppose a god that encourages honorable thieving. But Munchy could make a god of misfortune. Eternal could make a god of joy and fullfilment. Bigboi could make a god of peace. Froggy could make a god of moon and darkness, although since Sol seems also representative of fire, it might be better to make Firheh the god of moon and darkness.
