In 2008, Erik Larsen will add a new ongoing series to his busy schedule, but what is the Image Comics publisher up to, exactly? Larsen stopped by with some art and hints of what's to come.

I'm a fan of Erik Larsen's work. So any new work of his gets my attention.
In this case though, the teased artwork is a landscape drawing of an old house. I'm trying to get excited, I really am.
Helluva deal, Erik. :)
A beautifully rendered landscape drawing at that, but you're right, it's hard to get excited about it based on the content of the drawing. That said, it looks great and I'm excited to see Erik doing something else ongoing. Question is, will it go as long as Savage Dragon ultimately has?
That said, there seems to be a hidden clue in the article. The file name is "johnny_1_02_03.jpg." So, Johnny's in the title somehow?

I ain't no hot dog, yo.
Very interesting. Larson is really stepping up with alot of cool projects. It will be interesting to see all of his new ideas when not filtered through a big green character with a fin on his head.
It looks like an episode of Scooby Doo.
Jinkys, Erik!
Larsen is great. He says comic creators should create more and he's right. I, myself, am going to send a five page sample of a comic I want to do for Image Comics. I still have to finish and ink the pages myself (which I've never done). I want it to be a fun little super hero book. I've got 25 issues planned for it, so I want it to look as good as it can.
Yeah, that does look like the Mystery Machine there.:D
A big haunted mansion makes me think more towards the Addams family or The Munsters. Has anyone ever read Alan Moore's and Steve parkhouse's The Bojeffries Saga? That's the vibe I get from this. But, less Brittish.:)
As exciting as the announcement of this new project is, I think I'm more stoked about finally getting some more Savage Dragon stories!
No one responds to street art anymore.
People tend to respond to things like loaded guns in their faces.
That and celebrity spokesmodels.
I'm interested, but I still wish his new project was drawing Spider-Man again ;)
funny... I got to my Spider-Man box last night during my re-bagging process and ended up re-reading his "Revenge of the Sinister Six" story. That's when I REALLY liked Spider-Man. I wasn't always a big fan of Larsen's MJ, but everything else looked great. And it was so funny. And kind of sad too... One of the letters' pages mentioned that this run was interrupted by the fire...
But yes, I definitely started wishing there was some more Larsen Spidey out there. Good times.
"Spider-Man, I knew I'd find you if I waited at the Daily Bugle."
"I wasn't lost."

Sounds cool. 2007 has been a light Erik year and I need my Larsen fix. Looks like this, Dragon, the Next Issue Project, and the Kirby books we're going to get a ton of stuff from him. Can't wait.
Erik said the book is pretty far removed from Scooby Doo on his message board. Though scary mansion and VW bus does give the impression.
Well, I'm allready afraid for my pull-list... I will have to make decisions...
BV72 who/Ok, it will be in 2008... But times comes quickely...
