Default What's the Weirdest Thing That You're Proud Of?

I've noticed that people, oddly enough, seem to be proud of their ability to enjoy spicy foods.

Heck, I know I have reacted, when someone says, "I can't handle spicy foods," with "Oh?," like it's some big shock.

So folks seem to be proud of being able to handle spicy foods, and that's pretty weird.

But there has to be plenty of OTHER weird things that people are proud of, right?

So name me a weird thing that you are proud of!

I guess my version of that is that I've never drank, or even tasted, coffee. I wouldn't say I'm exactly proud of it, but it's something sort of like pride.

But the thing like this that ticks me off is when people say proudly that they're no good at math. Like they think it means that they must be creative and soulful, if their sensitive minds are incompatible with the cold analytical numbers. Newsflash: that's not what it means. It just means that you lack a highly useful life skill.

I am proud of the fact that I can cross my eyes and then move one eye at a time while keeping the other one still.

Yeah I know what you are talking about. I know a lot of people who are like that with computers. Like if we are working on a project and we need to do something on the computer one person always has to say "oh you guys will have to handle that I don't know anything about computers." And they say it so smug. DUDE it's 2007, don't be proud of that take five minutes to learn how to use a PC. (I also notice they have no problem using a computer when they need to find porn, all of a sudden they are Bill Gates).

What's weird about that? It's like saying "I can't handle spicy foods" is like saying "I'm a simpery little girl."

Most people don't just up and admit they're total pussies. So it is kind of shocking.

I've never seen an episode of Seinfeld or Friends.

Though those are both things to be LEGITIMATELY proud of...

I dunno. They're both OK. I learned a lot about pacing and structuring narrative from watching Seinfeld. And Friends had a monkey for a while.

I'm actually somewhat proud of our karaoke version of "If I Had $1000000."
"If you can't say anything good about someone, sit right here by me." - Alice Roosevelt Longworth, on manners

I am proud of having never read a Harry Potter or Dan Brown book.

There are few things I'm snobbish about. Non-comic book fiction is one of those areas.
