I believe he can control them mentally like he did his octobots. Not sure how he explains it, bit I think it has to do with the mental control he had of his octopus arms.

Hi guys hope you might be able to help me. After 20 years of collecting I'm finally looking to sell my Spider-man comics. I have about 3000 from about 1989 to present day. Is ebay the best bet? Do you think I should contact comic book stores directly and sell as a giant lot? Any advise would be hugely appreciated. It breaks my heart to let them go (Especially the clone saga) but it has to be done.

Ebay may be the best bet.

If retailers are interested, they're not going to pay you the value of the comics, because they have their own costs to deal with (salaries, real estate, etc.) They're going to want a cut. Plus, the back issue market has taken a beating with the advent of extensive Trade Paperback backlogs, as well as digital comics.

If you go the ebay route, you may want to use the account for other stuff first, just so interested buyers feel more confident. They may not trust a guy who has a new account asking for several hundred dollars for a complete clone saga collection.

I have heard about Superior Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man, and Ultimate Comics Spider-Man. Does someone have the time to explain all this or drop a link to a post or blog or something that can? In the main Universe you have Superior Spider-Man (main title) which replaced Amazing Spider-Man and Avenging Spider-Man (kind of a team-up book). Ultimate Spider-Man is an alternate reality Spider-Man and instead of Peter Parker, you have another guy.

If you want to jump in, There are a few places you can do so.

Start from number one (stan lee)

Start from volume 2 (written by JMS) - This is my favorite. It's a more modern version of Spider-Man (in terms of writing for example) and you still get to read all the major events that have happened.

Start from Brand New Day (new status quo for Peter)

Start from Amazing Spider-Man 698 which is the storyline that leads into Superior Spider-Man.
