I disagree that he has the "Uncle Ben complex." He even says at the end of Spider Island that Pete got Aunt May, Uncle Ben, "science fairs," etc. Kaine doesn't have that moral upbringing, that's why he always wants to kill his opponents and why he hasn't had any compunction against that before. The point of the series (so far) has been him wrestling with being the hero or leaving. The original story in Marvel: Point One reveals that Kaine 1) "feels [Peter] judging him" and 2) no longer wants to be "the monster." That's why he even has a series right now and what has made it so engaging.
Or at least that's my mildly biased opinion.
He still cares so much for May, MJ and so on. Why is he a moral defect? He never believed he was the orginal?

The way I always saw it was that he inherited implicit memories, meaning that he remembers HOW to do things, without actually remembering specific instances or events. So he would have inherited Peter's love for May, Uncle Ben, Gwen, MJ, etc., but he wouldn't remember specific Uncle Ben-isms (great power/great responsibility). You could of course make the argument that he would have inherited Peter's morals along with his love for family and friends, science knowledge, Spidey powers, etc. But then I would tell you that it's a comic book so you can't always expect answers that make sense or have scientific backing. Also, if you've been reading the series so far you can see how he's already showing some inexplicable morals (taking "custody" of Aracely, saving Doctor Meland) that were not present before, which you could explain two ways: 1) (like I said before) Peter-judging-me guilt complex/"I-can-be-something-better", or 2) perhaps now that he doesn't live in constant pain before he is beginning to think more clearly.
Not to mention since he stopped being Kaine a super-villain (anti-hero?) he's been living with transients and not (as far as we know) committing any serious crimes. He also saved Peter during Grim Hunt saying "Don't ruin my hero moment, Parker."
So his new morals could represent a gradual change of heart, a sudden change caused by his being cured during Spider Island, or (and more likely I'd say) an executive decision by Chris Yost and Marvel.
(Sorry for the long answers, just want to make sure I cover every possible angle.)
Hey I appreciate it and agree!

Clearly Venom and Scarlet Spider. Speculation? Ideas? Comments?
Hey guys, sorry if this is a stupid question or has been asked numerous times, but I'm not totally used to Marvel's universe. But what is generally considered the character Venom's first appearance? Is it ASM #299 or #300? Not the symbiote or costume, but the actual character? I ask because I know, for example, Wolverine first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #180 but #181 is more valued because it's his first full appearance. Is it a similar situation with Venom?
Thanks.
I'm not positive, but I believe 299 gets credit for first appearance, but 300 would be more valuable considering it's his first full appearance, as well as a 100 number issue. Personally, I'd give his first appearance to 300. He'd actually (partially) appeared before 299 as a stranger who tried to push Peter in front of a train (or something). As for an exact issue on that I don't know. Anyways 300 I would assume would be much more valued (and a quick check on Amazon confirms). Hope this answer helps!
300 is generally considered the first full appearence, and the one that gives him the origin, I think.

once more?
The wizard you say..hmm never heard of him. When did this happen?
